Higgins was 26-year-old when The Bachelor Season 20 aired. And according to the official Bachelor Nation website, Higgins was born on Mar. 23, 1989. He is currently 31-years-old. The former reality star also celebrated his recent birthday on Instagram by reminding fans to take action.
“Pour one out for 30 years. Here is to year 31,” Higgins wrote on the social media platform. “On this birthday my message for myself and all of us is ‘do something.’ Meaning please look for the hurting the outsider. Look outward not inward to see how we can ‘do something’ for someone else.”
He continued, “I don’t know much but after 30 years what I do know is serving the needs of others bring true life breathing joy and true joy is the best gift you can give yourself on any birthday at any age!”

Now, it’s been four years since The Bachelor Season 20 aired on ABC, and Higgins has come a long way since. The former software salesman is now the founder of Generous Coffee, which donated 100% of profits into “life-changing work done by non-profits.”
Meanwhile, Higgins is still involved with The Bachelor franchise today. Following his season, Higgins went on Bachelor Winter Games. Though he didn’t leave the spinoff series with a romantic partner.
Higgins also co-hosts the Almost Famous podcast alongside Bachelor Nation’s Ashley Iaconetti Haibon. Then in 2019, Higgins and The Bachelorette’s Becca Kufrin became the hosts for The Bachelor Live On Stage Official Tour. However, the tour was suspended because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Higgins’ occupation isn’t the only thing that changed after The Bachelor Season 20. In the finale episode, the 31-year-old chose Lauren Bushnell. Then a year later, the couple broke off their engagement and went their separate ways.
Now, Bushnell is married to country singer Chris Lane and Higgins is engaged to his girlfriend, Jessica Clarke. According to Entertainment Tonight, Higgins proposed to Clarke on Mar. 27.
“I went back to a pond behind her house, and we had set it up with sunflowers near a bench,” Higgins said. “It’s right in their backyard, but a little hidden. I proposed and her family and mine were watching from a distance, and then we all celebrated together.”
He continued, “I was super nervous. She’s my best friend, my partner and I love her. I was nervous to kind of do this whole thing in front of her. I wasn’t anxious, it’s just a big moment!”
Meanwhile, Clarke gushed over Higgins’ proposal in a post on Instagram. “I don’t remember everything you said, but I know that I said yes,” the 25-year-old wrote. “I woke up in a dream today and I get to live in this dream every day from now on (eeeep).”
