Michael’s final words on stage at what ended up being his last concert

The British recording artist, who was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, rose to fame as a member of the music duo Wham! in the ’80s before beginning his solo career and becoming a global superstar. Michael’s last tour was in 2012 when played 75 shows.

Smooth Radio noted that while on stage in a packed venue on Oct. 27, 2012, during what would be his final concert Michael addressed the crowd saying: “London, you have made the last night f****** perfect. It has truly been a privilege to play with these musicians for the last year and we want to say a big thank you to you all.”

Then the last words he ever spoke onstage were: “Thank you London, we love you — see you soon.”

George Michael’s age when he died

On Christmas morning 2016, Michael’s partner at the time, celebrity hairstylist Fadi Fawaz, went to wake the singer up out of bed but found him unresponsive. Fawaz called the authorities after several unsuccessful attempts to revive Michael.

Fawaz told the emergency dispatcher: “I’ve been trying to wake him up for the last hour but it was not possible. He’s gone. He’s blue.”

In March 2017, a coroner confirmed that the “Freedom” star died from natural causes as the result of a dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and a fatty liver. He was 53 years old at the time of his death.

Fawaz later recalled the plans he and Michael had the morning he died. “We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch,” Fawaz said (per The Sun). “I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed … George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.”

What Was Singer George Michael’s Net Worth at the Time of His Death?

Michael’s estate shut down claims the singer fathered a ‘love child’ years before his death

In 2018, a Swedish woman named Ulrika Lillemor Alfa Wonwolf claimed that she had a love child with the musician. Wonwolf said that she slept with Michael in 1997 and became pregnant. She had a son and claimed that the “One More Try” artist knew about the birth, gave some financial support, and visited with the child on multiple occasions.

Michael’s family, however, blasted her claims and a spokesman for the star’s estate said there was no truth in them.

Michael previously denied having kids in an interview saying: “Thank God I don’t have children — can you imagine being George Michael’s son or daughter.”
