How Old Is Cote de Pablo and Is She Returning To ‘NCIS’ To Play Ziva?
NCIS fans said goodbye to Cote de Pablo’s beloved character Agent Ziva David in 2013 but have been given hope recently that she might return to the show. Thanks to the episode titled “She” and because her name has come up again in Season 16, some viewers are convinced that will happen.
Here are the answers to some questions about the actress including how old she is, what her net worth is, why she left the CBS series, and of course if she’s going to return to play Ziva again.
What is Cote de Pablo’s age?
Cote de Pablo was born María José de Pablo Fernández on Nov. 12, 1979, in Santiago, Chile, to parents Francisco de Pablo and María Olga Fernández. When de Pablo was 10 years old, her mother got a job at a Spanish-language television station in the states and they moved to Miami.
De Pablo attended college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she studied musical theater. After she graduated she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. She did some work at the New York City Public Theater and appeared in a few TV commercials as well. In 2004, she played Marguerite Cisneros on the Fox series Jury, however, the show was canceled in its first season due to low ratings.
De Pablo got her big break in 2005 when she was cast on NCIS, where she played Ziva for 189 episodes.
Why she left NCIS and will she return?
In 2013, de Pablo wouldn’t divulge her exact reason for leaving NCIS during an interview with TV Guide.
“As far as my decision to leave, that’s a personal thing, and I’d rather leave it at that,” she said. “The idea of leaving was not something I toyed around with for a long time. It was an overwhelmingly hard thing–at times terrifying.”
Reports later surfaced that the actress was not happy with the direction writers were taking her character. After her exit, de Pablo left the door open about returning and noted that since her character didn’t die, she could always come back. But in a 2016 episode, viewers learned that Ziva was killed in an explosion with her death happening off-screen. Fast forward to Season 16 though and fans were riding a roller coaster of emotions again when they learned that Ziva was actually alive.
While viewers are anxiously waiting to see if she does have a grand return before or in the season finale, CinemaBlend previously tried to get answers from another NCIS star. However, actor Sean Murray wouldn’t offer any details about if de Pablo was coming back.
“I’m not in those conversations,” he said. “Those are above my pay grade. So, smarter people than me are in charge of that stuff.”
What is her net worth?
De Pablo earned some serious cash while working on the hit military drama. According to Yahoo, she made as much as $120,000 an episode before she left and these days still gets a share of any syndication money.
Today, de Pablo’s estimated net worth is $6 million.
