Thanks to TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras, viewers got an in-depth look into what the pageant world was really like for kids. From shocks to scandals to laughs, viewers became fascinated with pageantry — and with one little girl in particular. Alana Thompson, better known as Honey Boo Boo, got her own spin-off show after appearing on Toddlers & Tiaras, and fans came to love her spunky personality and loving family until Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was abruptly cancelled in 2014.

Nowadays, fans are wondering what Honey Boo Boo is up to now. Here’s how old she is today and what she’s reportedly up to most recently.

Today, Honey Boo Boo is 13 years old

You may remember the pageant queen when she was just 6 years old competing against other kids her age, but today, Honey Boo Boo is growing up fast. People reports this past August, Mama June Shannon posted a video on Instagram of Honey Boo Boo celebrating her 13th birthday. “Ok, I can’t believe how fast our kids grow up…my baby @honeybooboo is officially a teenager today! Please show her some Birthday love,” she captioned the post.

And Mama June wasn’t the only one to wish Honey Boo Boo a happy birthday. Older sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon also posted a happy birthday message. “I can’t believe you are 13 today!! I hope you enjoy your birthday & I promise when you get back home we will celebrate,” she wrote.

She retired from pageantry in 2013

Its unlikely you’ll see Honey Boo Boo on any runways in the future. According to Radar Online, Mama June announced her daughter’s retirement from the pageant world back in 2013. Even though the teen might miss the spotlight and the stage, Mama June told In Touch Weekly, “We’re done. We haven’t done a pageant for a while, because we’re so busy with our show and school and life in general.”

She appears on her mother’s spin-off TV series

Just because Honey Boo Boo isn’t taking the stage on her own anymore doesn’t mean she’s done with television, however. Mama June famously lost a ton of weight in recent years and has since gone on to have her own reality series titled Mama June: From Not to Hot. Radar Online explains the series began in 2017 and then was renewed for a second season in the summer of 2018.

Though the show focuses on Mama June’s life, there are plenty of appearances by Honey Boo Boo herself — and there’s even an episode that shows the mother-daughter duo competing in a pageant together, People reports. Perhaps they’re not quite finished with pageant life after all.

Honey Boo Boo competed on Dancing With the Stars: Juniors

Perhaps pageant life was the perfect gateway into the world of dance. Good Housekeeping reminds us in the fall of 2018, Honey Boo Boo competed on Dancing With the Stars: Juniors. Unfortunately, she was eliminated fifth — though her foxtrot to a Beauty and the Beast classic was praised by viewers. Some even suggested she should go into show business after all is said and done because of her spectacular performance.

We’re not sure what Honey Boo Boo will be up to next, but we’re sure she’s not finished being on our televisions. As for now, we’re still keeping up with her on Instagram, as she frequently posts her various ventures on the platform.
