“Mama” June Shannon is a reality TV personality best known for starring in the TLC show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and the WE series Mama June: From Not to Hot. She’s made quite a few headlines over the years for the wrong reasons and that was the case again in March 2019 when it was reported that she and her boyfriend were arrested on drug charges following a domestic dispute.

June and her beau, Geno Doak, were arrested at an Alabama gas station on March 13, on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Doak was also taken into custody for a domestic violence incident between the two.
According to TMZ, Honey Boo Boo’s mother admitted to having crack cocaine and was caught with a needle and a pipe.
This isn’t the first time June has been arrested. In 2008, the New York Daily News noted that the reality star was booked on charges of theft and contempt of court. The theft charge reportedly stemmed from issues with child support.

Mama June was born June Shannon on Aug. 10, 1979, in McIntyre, Georgia, to parents Sandra and Melvin Shannon. She has one older sister Joanne better known as Doe Doe. Her parents divorced when she was a child.
June got pregnant with her first daughter, Anna, while in high school and ended up dropping out.
“I had Anna when I was 15,” she said. “It is very hard. I had a job. Had to worry about takin’ care of a baby. I dropped out and got my GED. I mean, it was just too much for me.”
Today, she has four children Anna aka “Chickadee,” Jessica aka “Chubbs,” Lauryn aka “Pumpkin,” and Alana aka “Honey Boo Boo.” June also has two grandchildren and became a grandmother at the age of 32.

The series ran for four seasons and 26 episodes. The Wealth Record reported that the family was paid $50,000 per episode. It was canceled due to June’s involvement with Mark McDaniel, a registered sex offender who served 10 years in prison. Her daughter, Anna, revealed that she was sexually abused by McDaniel when she was 8 years old.
