Prince’s age when he died

On the morning of April 21, 2016, authorities were called to Prince’s Paisley Park home after he was found unresponsive.

When emergency responders arrived they performed CPR on the “Purple Rain” singer but were unable to revive him. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Anoka County later stated that Prince died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl. He was 57 years old.

Carver County attorney Mark Metz revealed that Prince thought he was taking Vicodin to manage pain but had unknowingly taken a pill laced with fentanyl. “Prince had no idea he was taking a counterfeit pill that could kill him,” Metz said (per ABC News).

Was the singer married and how many children did he have?

Prince was married twice.

His first marriage was to backup dancer Mayte Garcia in 1996. That same year the pair had a son, Amiir Nelson. The child was born with Pfeiffer syndrome which according to WebMD, is birth defect that affects the shape of a baby’s skull and face. Amiir tragically died six days after his birth. Prince and Garcia decided to divorce in 2000.

The following year the legendary musician wed Manuela Testolini. However, their marriage did not work out either and they ended it in 2006.

Testolini previously spoke to the Toronto Star about what it was like being married to one of the most famous people on the planet. “It was a roller-coaster,” she recalled, adding, “It was a very eye-opening experience to see what show business was all about.”

Testolini and R&B singer Eric Benét tied the knot in 2011 and have two daughters, Lucia Bella and Amoura Luna.
