How Rihanna and Chris Brown Feel About Getting Back Together
Fans have not been able to let Rihanna peacefully move on from Chris Brown. Though the two officially ended things in 2013, people constantly bring Brown up to the makeup mogul. Now, after an old interview of Rihanna saying she still had love for Brown resurfaced, people are wondering if the two could possibly reunite.
Chris Brown and Rihanna’s relationship
Rihanna and Brown went public with their relationship in 2008. In Feb. 2009, the two got in a physical altercation on the way to the Grammy Awards which resulted in Brown assaulting Rihanna. Brown was later sentenced to five years of probation for his actions.
Though Rihanna filed for a restraining order against Brown, the two got back together in 2012. Around this time, Brown was still on and off with model Karrueche Tran. In 2013, things between Rihanna and Brown officially ended.
What did Rihanna say in her interview?
In the 2012 interview with Oprah that has resurfaced, Rihanna was very positive about the future of her relationship with Brown.
“We’ve been working on our friendship again,” she said. “Now we’re very very close friends. We’ve built up a trust again, and that’s – we love each other and we probably always will. And that’s not something we’re ever going to change. That’s not something you can shut off, if you’ve ever been in love.”
She even admitted that Brown was the love of her life.
“I think he was the love of my life,” she said. “He was the first love. And I see that he loved me the same way… it’s not even about us being together. I truly love him. So the main thing for me is that he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s a little unhappy, or he’s still lonely.”
Will they get back together?
Brown and Rihanna have gone down two completely different paths and it’s unlikely that those paths will cross romantically again.
“Chris wasn’t aware that the podcast was released again, but he has no plans of reaching out to Rihanna about it regardless,” a source close to Brown told HollywoodLife. “He’s focused on his own thing and attempting to move on. He is also sure she’s doing her own thing and wouldn’t want to bother her.”
Since leaving Brown, Rihanna has started a beauty empire and Brown has become a father.
“Chris has changed,” the source said. “He’s happy that they’ve both achieved the level of success in their lives that they have both professionally and personally, and that they can be friends. He always wishes her the best in life and there’s really nothing more to it. He can’t imagine that they will ever be together romantically again. It would be too much for both of them and he is OK with that being the case.”
In fact, the idea of them getting back together is so out of the realm of possibility that the two are just waiting for all of this publicity drummed up by the interview to die down.
“So now that everyone is talking about them again, so be it,” the source said. “They are looking for it to subside and they both will continue with their lives as it has been, which they are very happy about. They have proven that they can move on, they just hope others can do the same.”
