Although her voice has become synonymous with the Disney animated character, Menzel also portrayed another well-known Disney character, the Wicked Witch of Oz. Menzel’s voice is powerful enough to reach the skies, but just how tall is the actor? Find out.
Idina Menzel’s height shocks many
Height might not be a significant factor in the outside world, but an actor’s height holds some weight in Hollywood. NPR reports that the height of the average actress in Hollywood is 5 foot 5, with the average Oscar-winning actress being 5 foot 5½.
In 2019, one Twitter user expressed their sentiments about Menzel’s height (incorrectly guessing it), saying, “why did I think @idinamenzel was like 5’10 after finding out yesterday that she’s only 5’4 it has completely shifted how tall I thought most celebrities were. This shouldn’t feel like an epiphany, but it does.”
The tweet found its way to Menzel, who politely corrected the user, saying, “I’m 5’6″ xo.” The reply soon gained traction with one fan remarking, “holy crap, my 13-year-old sister is about as tall as you are. Damn.” Another user commented saying, “I’m 5’3. I feel short.”
Idina Menzel’s health and fitness routine
Menzel sat down with Web MD in 2013 to talk about Frozen, her family, and fitness regimen. When asked how she manages her health, Menzel said, “I think it’s about staying in front of any illness. If I feel anything, I run to the doctor.”
The publication also asked about Menzel’s way of nurturing herself, to which she mentioned that she gets enough sleep and takes her supplements. She added, “I steam—in my steam shower. I find it’s very healing more than just your typical “tea and honey.” I let the steam get into my throat, and I can even warm up my voice and vocalize. And I steam my skin, which is great for getting all that stuff off my face,” referencing her Green Witch makeup in Wicked, where she played the Wicked Witch.
Idina Menzel also swears by Kate Somerville’s Clarifying Cleanser, which she uses in addition to steaming. She also mentioned that she had been trying to go gluten-free and that she enjoys blueberries. Menzel’s idea of a healthy dinner is sushi, “lots of chicken, or a piece of grilled fish like tilapia, with spinach and Brussel sprouts.”
Menzel’s workout regime includes Bikram yoga which involves a sequence of 26 yoga poses in a room above 100F. The star also said that she likes to box and even has a trainer. She said, “I take the art of boxing seriously, but make sure I don’t get punched in the face—it’s a great workout for the core.”
The star also admitted she wasn’t great at doing Pilates as she finds it “boring and slow, especially when I’m feeling really athletic.” Menzel’s weight loss advice is to cut out the soda and avoid sugar.
