‘How to Get Away With Murder’: Oliver Was Never Supposed to Be a Recurring Role
Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) and Connor (Jack Falahee) finally got their happily ever after on How to Get Away With Murder with their marriage. It’s hard to believe that the couple was never meant to be anything more than a one-night stand.

Do Oliver and Connor end up together on ‘How to Get Away With Murder’?
In the final episode of How to Get Away With Murder Season 6, Oliver and Connor gave us several tearful moments. Connor gave Oliver divorce papers and refused to accept a deal to keep himself out of prison.
Later, Connor placed his wedding ring in Oliver’s hands before he was taken to jail. Fans assumed that the relationship was truly over.
“Oliver, thank you. Now, I know how to love,” Connor tells his husband as he is taken into custody.
Most fans were crying at this point right along with the couple. We were unsure if the divorce was happening, but it looked like it.
In the final moments of the episode, we see that Oliver and Connor are somehow back together at Annalise’s funeral years later.
Oliver and Connor’s romance was never in the plan of ‘How to Get Away With Murder’
Oliver and Connor’s relationship was not a plan of the show early on. Executive producer, Peter Nowalk, loved Ricamora so much in the pilot that he decided to keep him around. Fans are so glad that he did.
“I was just supposed to be a one night stand, but Pete really liked what I was doing,” Ricamora told Out in Left Field with Dana Goldberg in 2017.
That one night stand turned into six seasons of romance, and fans loved every minute of it.

Conrad Ricamora’s role in ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ was his big break
Ricamora admitted on Instagram that he was sleeping on a friend’s couch when he got the call to be on How to Get Away With Murder.
“I took this picture the morning of the first episode airing back in 2014,” Ricamora wrote. “What you don’t see is that I was sleeping on a couch. For almost 2 years I was sleeping on a couch to try and see if I could make an acting career happen in New York City. I was doing Here Lies Love off-Broadway at the Public Theater, making $326/week and eating lots of ramen (not the fancy kind).”
That one episode turned into a full six seasons and a romance that no one could have predicted. Although, How to Get Away With Murder is over, you can rewatch the relationship between Oliver and Connor on Netflix and Hulu.
