How to Watch BTS’ Performance of ‘Butter’ at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will take place on May 23. At the awards show, BTS will perform their single “Butter” for the first time, and the Korean band is also nominated for four awards. Here is how fans can watch BTS’ performance of “Butter” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
How ARMY can watch BTS perform ‘Butter’ at the Billboard Music Awards
The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air on NBC on May 23 at 8 p.m. EDT and 5 p.m. PDT. BTS fans with a cable package will be able to watch the band perform “Butter” by tuning in to the awards show on NBC.
For fans who do not have cable, there are multiple ways to watch the Billboard Music Awards online. NBC will stream the awards show through Peacock. The streaming service offers a 7-day free trial, meaning fans can watch the 2021 Billboard Music Awards for free.
ARMY can also sign up for a Hulu + Live TV plan which would give them access to NBC. Like Peacock, Hulu offers a 7-day free trial for Hulu + Live TV.
SlingTV and fuboTV are two other streaming services that allow access to NBC. Both SlingTV and fuboTV have a 7-day free trial, giving BTS fans another way to watch the band perform “Butter” at the Billboard Music Awards free of charge.
BTS will debut ‘Butter’ at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards
On May 21 at midnight EDT, BTS released their second English-language single, “Butter,” and a music video for the song. The catchy song is a dance-pop track.
In the music video, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook glide through lighthearted choreography as they flirt and sing about being “hot like summer” and “smooth like butter.”
Before “Butter” dropped, BTS announced they would have their debut performance of the song at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
“We can’t hold it in any longer! Our debut performance of ‘#BTS_Butter’ will be at this year’s @BBMAs! Watch on Sunday, May 23rd at 8pm ET/5pm PT on @nbc,” the septet tweeted on May 11.
BTS’ performance of “Butter” will mark their fourth stage at the Billboard Music Awards. In 2018, they showcased their song “Fake Love,” and in 2019 they put on a performance of “Boy With Luv” with Halsey.
At the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook shared a virtual performance of “Dynamite” due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
BTS have four nominations at the awards show
At the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, BTS are nominated in four categories: Top Social Artist, Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Selling Song. With four nominations, BTS broke their previous record of achieving two nominations in the same year.
So far, BTS have won five Billboard Music Awards. The band won Top Social Artist in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. At the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, they won Top Duo/Group for the first time.
