RELEASED is a weekly series put on by YouTube Originals. With RELEASED, YouTube showcases artists’ recent work and gives the stars a chance to preview upcoming music.
ARMY can watch the RELEASED episode with BTS here on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel on Sept. 9. By following the hyperlink, fans will have access to the episode when it goes live.
BTS’ RELEASED episode will be available to watch on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel at 11:45 p.m. EDT and 8:45 p.m. PDT on Sept. 9 and at 12:45 p.m. KST on Sept. 10.
What fans can expect from the ‘RELEASED’ episode with BTS and Coldplay’s Chris Martin
During the RELEASED episode, BTS will discuss the Permission to Dance Challenge. For the challenge, BTS partnered with YouTube Shorts, and ARMY created 15-second YouTube Shorts incorporating the choreography of BTS’ single “Permission to Dance.”
According to a press release about the RELEASED episode, “The band will be joined by Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, for an intimate conversation on what inspired the #PermissiontoDance Challenge on YouTube Shorts and to discuss their shared experience as global musicians. The special episode will also feature a selection of Shorts from the challenge created by BTS fans around the world including the U.S., India, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom and more.”
On Sept. 3, a trailer for BTS’ RELEASED appearance with Martin was shared on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel. In the trailer, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook share details about what the episode will be like.
“Join us as we sit down for a conversation with Chris Martin on this week’s episode of YouTube’s RELEASED,” RM says at the start of the trailer.
“We’ll talk about the positive vibes we felt during the challenge,” says Jimin.
“Stay tuned to find out if your short made it into our compilation video,” J-Hope shares.
A new music video for ‘Permission to Dance’ will premiere after the ‘RELEASED’ episode
For the Permission to Dance Challenge, fans were encouraged to use the hashtags #PermissiontoDance and #Shorts when sharing the videos online. The challenge took place from July 23 to Aug. 14. Once the challenge ended, a handful of videos were chosen to be featured in a compilation video.
When BTS’ RELEASED episode ends, the compilation video of the Permission to Dance Challenge submissions will premiere on YouTube at midnight EDT on Sept. 10. The compilation video will be released as a new music video for “Permission to Dance” known as the “Shorts Challenge” version.
