How Will Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West Handle Raising Their Kids Now That He’s Moved out of Their California Home?
After nearly seven years of marriage, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are headed toward divorce. Though legal documents have yet to be filed, insiders reveal that West has moved out of their minimalist California mansion and that he and Kardashian West are no longer on speaking terms.
With their marriage nearing its end and there being little to no hope of reconciliation, we wonder: how will the estranged couple’s family dynamic look moving forward? Here’s what we know so far.
Kanye West is still an active presence in his kids’ lives
As Kardashian West and West are both public people, much of the world knows what’s been going on between them lately.
The powerhouse couple has officially called it quits and is currently preparing for divorce after six years of marriage.
Kardashian West’s decision to end her marriage comes on the heels of a tumultuous year that included West’s controversial presidential run, his public bipolar disorder episodes, and ongoing divorce rumors.
Though the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has yet to file any legal documents, insiders tell E! News that she and the rapper are “completely done and are no longer speaking.”
West has even removed his belongings from their Calabasas home, which they shared during their relationship.
But despite their marital woes and no longer living under the same roof, Kardashian West and West continue to remain dedicated parents to their four children: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1 1/2.
According to E! News, the Life of Pablo performer remains an active presence in his children’s lives, even though they live with the KUWTK star full-time.
“He still wants to play a huge role in their lives and Kim would never discourage that,” a source shared.
Kim Kardashian West would never keep Kanye West from their kids
Although she and West have had their issues, Kardashian West knows how good a father he is and wants him to continue being part of their kids’ lives.
“Kim has made it clear that Kanye can talk to his children anytime he wants,” an insider tells People.
For Kardashian West, keeping her family together is important. So, for the sake of their children, she encourages West to remain an active parent.
“She has never threatened to keep him from the kids. She only requires that he is not going to damage them,” the source added. “Kanye can FaceTime the kids anytime he wants.”
While the source says the rapper is struggling with the idea that his marriage is over, the KKW Beauty mogul has begun moving forward with her life and knows that ending things West is ultimately for the best.
“Kim doesn’t want to hurt him,” the source continues. “She just knows she can’t be married to him anymore. He is very aware that she has been a good wife. He still loves her very much. But he understands.”
Though it’s unclear how Kardashian West and West will co-parent once/ if they go through with their divorce, it’s likely they will continue to put their kids first because, at the end of the day, they are the ones who really matter.
