Hulk Hogan Under Fire After Claiming Betty White & Sidney Poitier Died From The COVID-19 Vaccine
Terry Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, is no stranger to controversy. And this time, the former wrestler has courted controversy after claiming that both Betty White and Sidney Poitier died after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Twitter users immediately exploded with anger at the former WWE superstar.
Hulk Hogan made the comment on Facebook
Earlier today, several Twitter users shared a comment made by Hulk Hogan on Facebook. One such user included Tyler Conway, who covers sports news at Bleacher Report. Conway shared a screenshot of Hogan’s comment on the popular social media site.
“100% Betty and Sidney were also jabed [sic] their [sic] dropping like flies but they’ll never say it,” he wrote.
As one might imagine, it didn’t take long for Hulk Hogan’s comments to go viral, and for the name “Hulk Hogan” to become a trending topic on Twitter. But despite his claims, there’s no evidence that either Betty White or Sidney Poitier died after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
Betty White died from a cerebrovascular accident (otherwise known as a stroke)
Contrary to the claims made by Hulk Hogan, Betty White died from a cerebrovascular accident (commonly known as a stroke). Initially, White’s representative claim she died of natural causes. However, Reuters confirmed that White suffered a stroke six days prior to her death.
“According to the document, issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the stroke occurred six days prior to White’s death. The health agency and the County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office, where vital records are kept, both declined to comment,” read the report from Reuters. “TMZ cited unnamed sources as saying White had remained alert and coherent following her stroke, before dying in her sleep at home.”
White was 99 years old when she died, and just about one month shy of her 100th birthday. But most importantly, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that White died after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. There is also no evidence to suggest that the stroke was caused by the vaccine.
Sidney Poitier died of natural causes
Furthermore, despite the claims made by Hulk Hogan, Sidney Poitier died of natural causes. There is no evidence to suggest that Poitier died after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Oscar-winning actor died at the age of 94. His death was initially confirmed by Clint Watson, press secretary for the Prime Minister of the Bahamas. Subsequently, Poitier’s family released a statement about his death to People.
“Although he is no longer here with us in this realm, his beautiful soul will continue to guide and inspire us. He will live on in us, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren — in every belly laugh, every curious inquiry, every act of compassion and kindness,” the statement said, in part. “His legacy will live on in the world, continuing to inspire not only with his incredible body of work but even more so with his humanity.”
