‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ reboot series follows a new group of teenagers
The first installment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise follows four high school friends. While on the road, they accidentally hit a pedestrian. The group formed a pact and agreed to never talk about the incident. One year later, the teenagers get a letter that reads, “I know what you did last summer.”
Soon after, they get stalked by a hook-wielding killer that’s out for vengeance. Although the film received mixed reviews, it became an instant cult classic. The horror film was a commercial success, grossing $125 million worldwide. Also, it remained the No. 1 spot in the U.S box office for three consecutive weeks. The movie spawned two sequels titled I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), and I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006).
The Amazon Prime series follows the same premise as the movies. According to TVLine, the official logline states: “One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town—and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.”

According to NME, the Amazon Prime series features Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, and Brooke Bloom. Sara Goodman (Gossip Girl) serves as the writer and executive producer. Additionally, horror director James Wan (The Conjuring), Michael Clear (Mortal Kombat), and Rob Hackett serve as executive producers.
When is the horror series premiering on Amazon Prime?
I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday (Oct. 15). The first four episodes will debut on the streaming platform. Then, the episodes will air every week until the season finale on Nov. 12.
