Grande hosted Saturday Night Live once before, on March 12, 2016, during which she also served as the musical guest. This significant moment for the “We Can’t Be Friends” singer, who saw performed double duty, as both the comedic and musical talent. In addition to hosting, she has appeared on SNL several other times as a musical guest, performing in 2014, 2016 (when she hosted), and 2020. This made her one of the few artists to both host and perform on the same episode.

Stevie Nicks, on the other hand, has never hosted Saturday Night Live. However, she has performed on the NBC series. Over 40 years before her forthcoming appearance, in 1983, Nicks appeared as a musical guest on SNL, where she performed songs from her second solo album The Wild Heart. She sang “Stand Back” and “Nightbird” as actor and comedian Flip Wilson served as host, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Nicks also performed on SNL with Fleetwood Mac in the ’80s and ’90s.

Have Ariana Grande and Stevie Nicks sang a duet together before?

No! Despite crossing paths at award shows and media events, Grand and Nicks have never shared the stage for a duet. But that doesn’t mean Nicks dislikes our favorite modern pop stars. The now-76-year-old performed at London’s BST Hyde Park on July 12, 2024. She was joined by none other than Harry Styles, a known fan of the Fleetwood Mac legend, reports Stereogum.

Styles surprised the crowd, first picking up a guitar to assist Nicks on “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” the hit single from her 1981 solo debut Bella Donna, originally co-written by Tom Petty. Later, the two returned to the stage together for a heartfelt duet of “Landslide,” the beloved ballad from Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 self-titled album.

Fans also saw Nicks and Styles perform together in 2019 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. As the “Dreams” singer was inducted into the Hall, they sang her 1981 song “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” together.
