As we know, Pitt famously left his marriage with Aniston for Angelina Jolie. The two met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and instantly connected. Months later, Pitt and Jolie went public with their relationship, leaving Aniston heartbroken.

Aniston and Pitt shared an intimate relationship for seven years. Not long after they started dating, the two decided to tie the knot. Their million-dollar wedding left everyone awestruck, and it seemed as if the whole world was rooting for the golden couple.

While saying their wedding vows, Aniston promised Pitt that she’d always make him his favorite banana smoothie. Meanwhile, Pitt vowed to compromise on the thermostat with his wife.

Their bond seemed unbreakable — until Jolie showed up. The Maleficent actor stole Pitt’s heart while he was still married to Aniston. According to the Independent, Jolie revealed:

“Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in, I realized, God, I can’t wait to get to work. Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class or doing stunts—anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became kind of a pair.” 

She went on to say they developed suppressed feelings for each other on set.

“It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more than we’d earlier allowed ourselves to believe. And both knowing the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration.”

If it weren’t for the actor dropping out of his role, who knows whether Pitt and Jolie would have ever crossed paths? There is a chance that if it weren’t for Depp, Pitt and Aniston might not have severed their ties.
