‘Impractical Jokers’: How to Watch the New Episode With Eric André
Impractical Jokers is back with a new episode and a special guest: Bad Trip prankster Eric André. André is among the list of celebrities who will guest host the show in Joe Gatto’s absence, helping James Murray, Brian Quinn, and Sal Vulcano pull off more humiliating pranks and challenges against one another. It’s a big deal, is what we’re saying. So if you missed it, here’s how to watch the Impractical Jokers episode with Eric André.
‘Impractical Jokers’ has returned with a new episode
The episode was released on Saturday, April 2. It aired on truTV, TBS, and TNT. But if you missed it, there are other ways to watch. It is available here on the truTV website and on Hulu with Live TV.
The episode is the first since Gatto stepped back from the show. The comedian, a founding member of The Tenderloins comedy troupe behind the show, announced his exit in December of 2021, citing personal issues.
“Alongside my friends, I’ve devoted a decade of my life to building this franchise and couldn’t be prouder of what has been accomplished. However, due to some issues in my personal life, I have to step away,” he explained on Instagram at the time. “Outside of my family, my relationships with Murr, Q, and Sal have been the most important in my life. I know they will continue to make the world laugh.”
However, Gatto has continued to work, carrying out previously scheduled commitments like a comedy tour and his podcast, Two Cool Moms, which he hosts with comedian Steve Byrne. Gatto also announced in February that he has a screenplay in the works, though it still appears to be in the early stages.
Expect more celebrities on the show
Impractical Jokers will rely more on celebrity guests in his absence. Stars like Joey Fatone, Danica McKellar, and Gary Busey had appeared on the show over the years, but future episodes will take it to a new level. In addition to André, David Cross, Jon Gabrus, Chris Jericho, Colin Jost, and Method Man, among others, will guest host Impractical Jokers.
“You’re gonna love it,” Murray said of the new episodes on Instagram Live. “It’s great. Everything is going well, the filming is well, we’re just going on. … Yes, we are bringing ‘Impractical Jokers’ back, and it’s gonna be awesome. So don’t worry.”
Quinn spoke about how the show had changed on the podcast, Tell ’em Steve-Dave!. He said it was definitely “weirder” to film without Gatto, whom he described as a “comedic powerhouse.” But it wasn’t all bad.
“I’m able to get a little bit more of my s*** [in],” he said. “… I am getting in some like fun weird s*** now. It’s kind of revitalized the show. I think this is actually going to give the show legs that were getting tired if that makes sense.”
“Now I’m just like, ‘F*** it, let’s start breaking format here and there,’” he added. “I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t think people were going to like it, but I think people are going to be really surprised at what we end up doing. It’s going to be great. I’m more invested and more involved and having more fun than I’ve had in a long time.”
