‘Insecure’ Season 4 Episode 8 Soundtrack — All the Music Featured in ‘Lowkey Happy’
After Molly Carter and Lawrence Walker had an awkward moment at the airport at the end of last episode, he called someone wanting to reconnect. In Insecure Season 4 Episode 8, viewers find out he phoned Issa Dee, and the two reunited for their first night together since the breakup last year.
During Friendsgiving, Lawrence’s girlfriend at the time, Condola Hayes, asked him if he wondered what would have happened if he chose to stay with his ex of five years when she cheated. Lawrence realized he hadn’t thought about it, and he and Condola parted ways shortly after.
Now that a year has passed since the breakup and he’s single, he decided it would be a good time to revisit what went wrong with him and Issa. Here’s what happened in Lowkey Happy, including all the music featured in the episode.

Issa Dee and Lawrence Walker reunited
The evening began with Issa (Issa Rae) greeting Lawrence (Jay Ellis) by falling flat on her face in front of everyone. After he helped her up, the two ordered drinks, and Issa admitted she and best friend Molly (Yvonne Orji) weren’t on speaking terms.
However, they couldn’t have much conversation due to the other bar-goers collectively singing a Lizzo song. Therefore, they decided to go to a restaurant the two wanted to try out together while dating.
After promising they would have an honest conversation with “no eggshells,” Lawrence admitted he wondered about the potential of their relationship had he stayed after Issa cheated.
Issa noted she wished he wouldn’t have given up on them and honestly explained that his absence drove her to sleep with someone else. Lawrence opened up and described how he felt at the time as he had nothing going on, and it was easier to blame her.
He also admitted he did buy her a ring. The two left the restaurant, had an awkward encounter with Calvin, a.k.a. “TSA Bae,” (Reggie Conquest) and then went to an Art Walk.
Even though Lawrence initially made plans to see Condola (Christina Elmore) later, Issa didn’t want the night to end, and the two hooked up. The episode ended with Issa walking to her house from Lawrence’s the morning after with an extra skip in her step.
