‘Insecure’ Fans Believe Issa and Lawrence Get Back Together in Season 4
We’re only two episodes into Insecure Season 4 and already some fans have theories about how the season will play out. Judging by the show’s cold open, clearly, there’s a lot to unpack. From Issa and Molly’s dwindling friendship to Issa’s newfound friendship with Condola, to Condola’s relationship with Lawrence, the writers have a ton in store for us.

The nucleus of the show has always been the friendship between Issa and Molly and season 4 is clearly no different. Issa starts the season by saying that she doesn’t really “fu*k” with Molly anymore and fans have begun to speculate on why that’s the case. In the first episode, we saw that the besties haven’t spent as much time together in the past few months. Between Molly’s high-powered corporate job and Issa’s meticulous planning of the Block Party, their time together has been scarce.

Fans of Insecure also noted that Molly’s ever-present judgment could be the source of the rift between the women. People found Molly’s reaction to Issa stating that she was still going to be friends with Condola to be particularly harsh. They shared that she wasn’t being a good friend and wanted Issa’s life to be as messy as hers. But, after watching the second episode of season 4, fans believe that Issa has her judgemental moments as well after she told Molly she wasn’t sure if she even wanted to be happy in any romantic relationship.
It seems that harsh truths, poor communication, and misunderstandings might all be factors in why Issa and Molly’s friendship is in trouble. However, other fans of the show believe that what will inevitably ruin Molly and Issa’s friendship is Issa getting back together with Lawrence. Episode 2 of Insecure season 4 is the first time the exes have interacted in a while, but fans think that their chemistry is still plenty palpable.
Will Issa and Lawrence get back together?
Many fans believe that Issa and Lawrence will begin building their friendship back up in season 4. “Issa’s not all the way ready to let him go just yet. She called him to make sure not to tell her. They will be back together I believe they just fit. Even now, they’re best of friends they truly love one another and really want the best for each other. 😍 Best show ever, INSECURE,” one fan wrote on Instagram.
Other people believe that Issa’s continued friendship with Condola is just another way for Issa to subconsciously stay close to Lawrence. “Condola is no Molly! I think Issa doesn’t realize that being friends with Condola makes her feel still connected to Lawrence in some weird way,” one person wrote about the popular show.
What surprises are in store for ‘Insecure’ season 4?
Other fans of Insecure added that Lawrence was likely drawn to Condola because she reminded him of Issa. “I think Lawrence likes Condola because she is a lot like Issa. And it’s like having Issa all over again but new, fun and fresh,” one person added. Only time will tell if season 4 brings Issa and Lawrence back together. But, we can’t wait to watch it all unfold.
