Inside the $5.35 Million Newport Beach House Christina Haack and Ant Anstead Lived in Before Their Divorce
Christina Haack recently bought a new house in Newport Beach, where she previously lived with her then-husband, Ant Anstead. Here are all the details we know about the $5.35 million home the HGTV star shared with Anstead before their divorce.
Christina Haack and Ant Anstead lived in a $5.35 million mansion in Newport Beach before their divorce
Ant Anstead and Christina Haack shared several houses during their marriage, but their mansion in Newport Beach was the place they intended to make their family home. But after their divorce, Haack decided to sell the mansion and make a fresh start in a new house.
According to People, Anstead and Haack’s former home in Newport Beach covered nearly 5,000 square feet and had five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.
The mansion boasted a foyer with 20-foot ceilings, herringbone and wide-plank wood floors, a security gated motor court, and a “commercial grade” kitchen. The master bedroom had an attached “studio/creative space” and an adjoining bathroom with a double rain shower and soaking tub.
The exterior of the home was as impressive as the interior. The backyard contained a swimming pool with Baja spa steps and a waterslide, as well as a turf lawn.
Anstead told the publication in 2019 that the mansion made a great family home. “I love when we’re all here together with our noise, our mess, our family,” he said. Haack and Anstead had one son together, Hudson London Anstead, who was born in September 2019. They also each had two children from their previous marriages.
Ant Anstead said he ‘did an awful lot’ in the Newport Beach house he shared with Christina Haack and added several ‘personal touches’
In June 2021, Ant Anstead told People he was glad that Christina Haack sold the Newport Beach home after their divorce. “I’m really happy for her,” the English TV presenter said. “I think it’s the right decision. That home has memories.”
And it certainly does, since the former couple got married in the backyard of the house in December 2018. Anstead also said that he added a lot of “personal touches” to the home.
“I mean, I did an awful lot in that house, and it’s a big home for somebody on their own,” he said. “It was a home that we got together, renovated together. And I physically did a lot of hands-on work on it. I mean, the stairs, the wine rack, the light fixtures above the bed, the ‘LOVE’ sign … all those personal touches I did.”
He said that all those personal touches may have factored into Haack’s decision to sell the place. “Anyone can go and buy something, but to have it made is different,” Anstead explained. “So I imagine, for Christina’s world, she needed to have that fresh start. Because she would’ve been living in a surrounding of reminders.”
The HGTV star sold the home she shared with the English TV presenter in June 2021
Christina Haack announced the sale of the Newport Beach house she shared with Ant Anstead on June 17, 2021.
She made a celebratory Instagram post showing her drinking champagne with a friend near a body of water. “Cheers to a closed sale 🥂 🏠,” Haack captioned the photo. “Thank you @troyhowardrealestate for doing an excellent job representing me. Now time to find that home on the coast 🌊.”
Although Haack listed the home for $6 million, she ended up selling the house for $5.35 million.
