Inside Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Secret Summer Getaway to The Hamptons: ‘They Are Getting Back to Being a Strong Family’
Beyoncé and Jay-Z might be the most low-key couple in showbiz.
The very-private pair met in the early 2000s, married in secret in 2008, and are now parents to three young children. They retreated even further into seclusion earlier in the year when the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic started to pick up, appearing to hunker down in their $26 million mansion in The Hamptons. Neither of them has publicly made any mention of their time in the area, but a new report sheds light on what they’ve been up to over the summer.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have reportedly been staying in The Hamptons for months
It seems the famous family has been in The Hamptons since June. Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and their kids were seen arriving there around the same time she released “Black Parade” on June 19.
Photos published by TMZ showed Beyoncé and Jay-Z exiting a plane while holding their 3-year-old twins Sir and Rumi as their eldest daughter Blue Ivy, 8, walked with them.
In the months that have followed, they have been photographed several times in The Hamptons, including at the end of June when they were seen shopping and in July when Beyoncé and Jay-Z went for a bike ride together.

Sources recently opened up to HollywoodLife about the family’s activities in recent months, particularly during their time in The Hamptons. One insider told the outlet in a report published on Aug. 29 that the pair has allegedly been at its home in The Hamptons “all summer.”
“They love it there and it’s been the perfect place to be during the pandemic for them because they have a ton of property and everything they need,” the insider continued, adding, “They love going for bike rides, playing on the beach with kids and BBQing. Beyonce’s mom has been there with them and so has Solange and her son. Lately they’ve been socializing with friends more, but they’ve kept their circle small, they’re cautious. For the most part, it’s been a lot of quality family time.”
A second insider detailed the “sense of calm” Beyoncé and Jay-Z have reportedly had over the past few months.
“Jay and Bey don’t often have time to have time to relax. They usually are working on so many things from music to movies and being entrepreneurs that this time of COVID, it has been a sense of calm for them while in the Hamptons,” the source shared. “[Bey and Jay] are having fun and really loving their marriage. They are getting back to being a strong family and love hanging out with each other more with no outside distractions. It has been a great time.”
Cracks in their marriage were exposed in 2014 when Solange got into a fight with Jay-Z after the Met Gala while Beyoncé stood to the side and watched. After widespread speculation about what caused the incident, Beyoncé appeared to confirm on her critically-acclaimed sixth album Lemonade (2016) that her husband had been unfaithful. He owned up to it and apologized on his 2017 album, 4:44. The next year, they marked their reconciliation with the joint album EVERYTHING IS LOVE.
