Barrymore sold her homes in Montecito and the Hollywood Hills

One place that Barrymore called home for many years is a mansion located in the Hollywood Hills. She bought the compound back in 2002 for $4.35 million. The gated estate sits on more than an acre of land and has 8,000 square feet of living space. It boasts a total of 18 rooms and has five fireplaces and a “two-story living room.” Set on the property is also a guest house and a guardhouse. Some of its amenities include a large swimming pool, lush gardens that surround the home, and views of both the city and the ocean. Barrymore sold the abode in 2018 for $16.5 million.

The Charlie’s Angels star also owned another mansion in Montecito. That house is actually where she married her now ex-husband, Will Kopelman, with whom she shares two children. She picked up the property in 2010 for just over $5.7 million. The house is over 6,600 square feet with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. The sprawling estate is spread out over two acres and offers stunning mountain views. It has a detached 382-square-foot guest house as well as a six-car garage. Barrymore sold this place in 2013 for $6.35 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Inside her Hamptons beachhouse

In 2019, Barrymore purchased a beach house on the other side of the country when she moved to The Hamptons with her daughters.

In her book Rebel Homemaker, Barrymore said she was “always looking for an anchor in the form of a home” but realized “anywhere my girls and I are together, we will find happiness.”

The Santa Clarita Diet actor and her little ones, Olive and Frankie, currently reside in the village of Sagaponack, which has been called the most expensive zip code on the East Coast. Barrymore’s Hamptons beach house cost $5.5 million. The home is 5,600 square feet, sits on 1.7 acres of land, and has six bedrooms with as many bathrooms. The house has high ceilings with exposed beams and hardwood floors throughout. There’s a library and study inside and outside there’s a heated pool with a pool house and a $30,000 playhouse for her daughters.

Barrymore also purchased a house in Hawaii

It’s also been reported that Barrymore purchased a vacation beach home in Hawaii years ago.

That beachside bungalow is located on Kauai. Nicknamed “the Garden Isle,” Kauai is known to many in the film industry for its picturesque backdrop when shooting scenes for movies such as Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Arc, and Tropic Thunder. Kauai though is still off the beaten path for most vacationers so it does offer some privacy which is why several celebrities have purchased or rented properties on the island.
