Insider Claims Prince William ‘Is Really in Charge’ and Has Placed a Total Ban on Prince Harry Returning to Royal Duties
Prince William and Prince Harry have been at odds ever since Harry met his now-wife, Meghan Markle. As Harry gained independence, William lost control over his brother, and it resulted in the two men hardly being on speaking terms. But some say that a potential royal return for Harry is not in the cards — given that William has placed an “absolute ban” on his brother.
That’s not to say Harry would ever want to return to royal duties anyway, but according to insiders, it’s not even an option.
Prince William reportedly never wants to see Prince Harry perform royal duties again
William is preparing to be king. He became first in line for the throne after Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022, and it’s remained one of his greatest focuses ever since. William and his wife, Kate Middleton, have basically become the faces of the royal family, though Kate is taking a much-deserved break from the spotlight as she undergoes chemotherapy. Still, despite that there have been some health issues within the family, William reportedly never wants to see his brother return to royal duties.
According to The Daily Beast, an insider claims that William doesn’t want anything to do with the idea of Harry returning to royal duties, and that William has much more control over the royal family’s decisions than was previously thought. “[It] tells you everything you need to know about who is really in charge,” the source said of William’s unwillingness to let Harry back into the family — and Harry keeping his distance.
Prince Harry likely won’t return to the United Kingdom for a while
When Harry said in his early 2024 interview that he loves his family, he also said that he had a number of trips planned that would bring him back through the United Kingdom. Since then, Harry has only made one stop in the UK, and it wasn’t to see his family; it was to attend a ceremony for his Invictus Games. He did not see Charles or William during that time, and he has not been back since May.
It seems that, no matter what the public wants to believe, Harry isn’t itching to get back to the UK and likely won’t work through his problems with his father and brother if he’s never there. Although Harry did say during a court hearing that he wants his kids to grow up knowing what the UK is like, he hasn’t taken many solo trips home. And as far as anyone knows, he doesn’t have any planned for the near future.
