The premise of Amazon’s animated series ‘Invincible’

The Invincible series follows young teen Mark Grayson, son of the amazing Omni-Man. While we get a glimpse of Grayson pre-Invincible, not long after turning seventeen, the new superhero acquired his powers and started training under his dad.

Feeling overshadowed by his dad, Mark struggles with coming into his own as a superhero and discovering the truth about his dad’s legacy.

The animated series brings the gore and dirty truth to being a superhero that some other big franchises have avoided for young viewers. Not to mention their cast has fans flocking to the series just to see the latest from their favorite actors.

Notable voice cast names include J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man/Nolan Grayson, Steven Yeun as Invincible, Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson, Zachary Quinto as Robot, Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien, Mahershala Ali as Titan, and more.

PrimeTimer praises the series, saying, “[Invincible] boasts a cast larger than any we’ve seen in recent memory.”

What season two will likely be about

An official season two storyline hasn’t made its way to the public yet. Still, some theories are circulating since the animated series is based on the popular Invincible comic books created by Robert Kirkman (writer) and Cory Walker (artist).

“Certain details can be inferred by looking to the comics and what happened after Mark’s devastating fight with Omni-Man,” Screenrant explains. “Season [two] can then focus on Mark stepping up as Earth’s main protector after Nolan flees into space.”

They add, “If it follows the arc of the comics, and if the montage at the end of the finale is any indication, then the main plot elements will involve the Sequids’ plan to take over Earth, Titan growing his crime organization, Allen’s adventures in space, and Mark’s tensions with Cecil’s methods for protecting the Earth.”

Despite all the delays and cancelations plaguing most of our beloved shows, Invincible has officially been accepted by Amazon for two more seasons. This means Amazon is more than convinced their big investment won’t disappoint us anytime soon.

Since Invincible is an animated series that can primarily be done from home, there’s a great chance we won’t see much (if any) delays for season two. This puts its potential release date around mid-to-late 2022. Season three will likely follow in its footsteps and premiere a year or so after that.

Considering the first trailer typically drops a little more than 150 days before release, you can also expect to start seeing those in early 2022.

As for the ridiculously talented cast…

“I hesitate to name names, just because I would eventually like to bring everyone,” Kirkman told Comicbook.com in an interview. “I can’t think of an actor on The Walking Dead I wouldn’t want to work with again. It’s an amazing group of actors. Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan…there’s not really anyone I wouldn’t want to bring in.”

There you go! Everything we know about the Invincible’s season two details. There isn’t much out on the topic since season one just aired on March 25, 2021. However, we will regularly update you when the big news starts dropping!
