Is a Romance Brewing Between These Two ‘When Calls the Heart’ Stars?
A pair of When Calls the Heart cast members are feeling the love. While the love triangle between Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally), and Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) will continue to play out on-screen in the upcoming eighth season of Hallmark Channel series, there’s apparently some off-screen romance brewing as well, Entertainment Tonight reports.
‘When Calls the Heart’ cast members Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace are dating
It was a series of social media posts from McGarry and his co-star Kayla Wallace that first sparked the dating rumors among Hearties. On Nov. 18, McGarry — who joined the cast of the period drama in 2019 — took to Instagram to share a photo that showed two cups of coffee as well as a handful of polaroids of himself and Wallace. (Wallace plays Fiona, Hope Valley’s switchboard operator.)
“Photo evidence,” McGarry captioned the post. Soon after, Wallace reposted the image to her Instagram Story with a heart.
Entertainment Tonight spoke to a source close to McGarry and Wallace, who confirmed the two are dating.
‘When Calls the Heart’ wraps filming on season 8
McGarry’s somewhat cryptic Instagram post was one of a flurry of updates from When Calls the Heart cast members in recent days. The show recently wrapped filming for season 8, and many actors took to Instagram to sing the praises of their co-workers and reflect on making a TV show during a pandemic.
“Yesterday we picture wrapped Season 8 of @wcth_tv,” Krakow wrote in a Nov. 18 Instagram post. “It’s hard to describe the emotions I’m feeling: pride, happiness, relief, longing – it’s always bittersweet. This season more than ever, our WCTH family took excellent care of each other and I’m so grateful.”
“That’s a wrap on season 8 WCTH! There are too many people to list so I will just say: Thank you to everyone who makes this show possible, it continues to be one of the great gifts in my life,” wrote Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary Coulter, on her Instagram.
“Feeling grateful, feeling blessed to be a part of another season of When Calls the Heart. Hard to say good bye and Beyond excited to be going home,” read an Instagram post from Paul Greene, who plays Dr. Carson Shepherd.
‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 8 premieres in 2021
Hallmark Channel has yet to announce a premiere date for the new season of When Calls the Heart. However, new episodes typically begin airing in February.
Unlike in years past, there will be no When Calls the Heart Christmas special this year. Instead, two additional episodes will air as part of season 8. The network has also promised Hearties a “special surprise” on Christmas Day, so fans will want to tune in to the Hallmark Channel to see what’s happening in Hope Valley this holiday.
