Is Brody Jenner Still Friends With Lauren Conrad?
In the mid-2000s, Brody Jenner and Lauren Conrad were a hot item from the MTV hit reality series The Hills. While Conrad was the main character on the show, Jenner was her close friend and love interest.
These days, Jenner is a fixture on the reboot show The Hills: New Beginnings, though Conrad is nowhere to be seen. In fact, despite the two of them being close back then, Jenner has not talked much about his relationship with Conrad on New Beginnings. This has got a lot of fans wondering: Are Jenner and Conrad still friends?
Brody Jenner and Lauren Conrad dated in the earlier seasons of ‘The Hills’
Jenner and Conrad started going out with each other on season 2 of The Hills. The two of them met through mutual friends and sparks developed. Conrad also admitted on the show that Jenner was the “first guy” that she developed feelings for after her big breakup with her high school boyfriend in the first season.
On the show, Jenner and Conrad went on a few dates with each other, but their romance eventually fizzled out. Both Jenner and Conrad eventually admitted years later that they never actually dated each other, despite what the producers on The Hills wanted viewers to think. In 2016, Conrad said her romantic relationship with Jenner was “forced” because there was a lot of pressure for her to have a boyfriend on the show.
“I just sort of let them do whatever they wanted,” she said of the producers.
Jenner also reiterated Conrad’s claim that the relationship was fake.
“Lauren and I have always been just friends,” Brody said in 2019. “We worked together on a show called The Hills where we had to pretend like we were dating but we never dated.”

Even though Jenner and Conrad ended up not becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, he was still considered one of her best friends on The Hills. Yet, after Conrad left the show in the fifth season, it seems that she became more distant with most her former co-stars, including Jenner.
“No one’s really talked to her since the finale,” Audrina Patridge, one of Conrad’s close friends on the show, told ET. “We all went our complete separate ways.”
Jenner himself also shared with ET: “I haven’t talked to Lauren for quite some time. It’s been, I don’t know, years.”
He did add that he occasionally runs into Conrad “every few years,” though he did not elaborate on what their encounters are like.
It’s clear that Conrad wants to simply leave her reality TV show past behind and move on. While Jenner and the other The Hills alums are excited to be filming New Beginnings, Conrad is currently focusing on running her fashion brand and podcast. She is also married and expecting a second child.
Brody Jenner wishes Lauren Conrad could have been on ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’
Despite the fact that Conrad is not on the new reboot of The Hills, it does not seem as if she and Jenner have any bad blood between. In fact, Jenner has shared that he wishes Conrad — as well as Kristin Cavallari, who replaced Conrad in seasons 5 and 6 — could have been on The Hills: New Beginnings.
“I love both of those girls,” Brody said to Hollywood Life. “They weren’t on this season, but yeah, it would’ve been nice to have them.”
However, while fans might miss Conrad and Cavallari, Jenner said that the reboot definitely has something new to offer.
“Lauren narrated the entire show before,” he said. “This, I feel has an entirely different feel. There’s more camera time and things like that with cast members and you get to see different dramas. It’s a whole different format for the show which is really cool.”
The Hills: New Beginnings was renewed for a second season.
