There are seven members in BTS, but there’s only one Baby Mochi. For years, the singer and dancer, Jimin, was known to be the shortest member of the K-pop group. Now, however, that can all be changing.

Here’s what Jimin tweeted about his recent growth spurt.

Jimin and Suga are 2 performers in BTS

RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are award-winning performers, even earning a Grammy nomination for their song, “Dynamite.” Suga, one of the rappers for BTS, is also known for his solo music, performed under the stage name, Agust D.

Jimin is known for his dancing skills, showcased both inside and outside of his work with this K-pop group. When it comes to the heights of these performers, RM is the tallest. Recently, the shortest member of BTS changed.

Is Suga or Jimin shorter?

RM is the leader of BTS and Jin is the oldest. When it comes to the heights of the BTS members, Jimin used to be the shortest. However, as of November 2020, he’s caught up with Suga, coming in at 174 cm, according to a picture he shared to the BTS Twitter account.

“Okay, so I’ve caught up to Yoongi hyung’s height. J-Hope is next, get ready,” Jimin tweeted, according to a translation from Elite Daily. Of course, BTS fans shared their excitement at this news, congratulating the singer.

The first tweet, sharing the height of the performer, earned over 2 million likes. Some fans even pointed out that in 2019, Suga tweeted his wish for Jimin to grow for his birthday. His wish came true.

Jimin is no longer the shortest member of BTS

He’s nicknamed Baby Mochi for a reason. Sometimes, Jimin even made jokes about his height. (That is, before he was as tall as Suga.) For one clip, the performer discussed the group choreography for “Dionysus,” a song that required the members to sit behind a table.

“I have a secret. My sitting height is short so I was like this when I sat down,” Jimin said according to a translation on the video. He demonstrated his technique by sitting with his leg under his butt, so his height looked similar to the other BTS members.

Of course, his height never gets in the way of performing, as Jimin often functions as one of the main dancers for the group. He also appears on solo songs like “Serendipity” and, most recently, off of Map of the Soul: 7, “Filter.”

The “Life Goes On” music video by BTS is now available for streaming on YouTube. The K-pop group’s deluxe album, titled Be, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
