Is Emily Simpson Returning To ‘RHOC’ Season 16? Bravo Star Reacts
Emily Simpson of The Real Housewives of Orange County chronicled her anguish through the pandemic in season 16. The Bravo star’s husband got severe symptoms after he tested positive for COVID-19. Luckily, her husband was able to recover and she had a happy ending. However, the future of Simpson as a RHOC cast member is uncertain.
Time for changes
Following RHOC Season 15 there have been talks of a major cast shakeup. Andy Cohen, who is an executive producer on the show, recently added fuel to the fire when he replied to a Bravo fan asking for the series to be canceled.
The Orange County-based show was the one that started The Real Housewives franchise and Cohen is not ready to give up on his show. Instead of axing the reality series, the former Bravo executive said it’s time to “reBOOT” it.
Former housewife, Tamra Judge, replied to Cohen’s tweet and is seemingly ready to take back her orange after leaving the show.
Bravo has not made any decisions on castings known yet. None of the housewives that appeared in season 15 have confirmed if they will be back. The latter was known when a fan asked Simpson if she was returning.
“No idea!” she replied. “But whatever happens is meant to be and I’ll always speak kindly and warmly of the show, production, and cast.”
Kelly Dodd expects to be fired
One RHOC Season 15 star is seemingly bracing for the worst and expects to get fired. Kelly Dodd is reportedly feeling like she will get the ax and won’t be returning for season 16. The reality TV personality has been in the middle of controversy due to her opinions on COVID-19.
“Although she would love to stay on the show, she has come to terms with it,” an insider told E! News. “She knows it’s coming.”
The insider said Dodd feels they are favoring cast members like Braunwyn Windham-Burke. It was Dodd that recently threatened to quit the show if the latter returned.
“I know I cannot film with Braunwyn, I know for a fact that I cannot film with her, there’s just no way,” Dodd said in an Instagram Live video captured by Queens of Bravo. “If she comes back then I’m out because I know for a fact that I cannot [film with her]. She’s dangerous and calling people racists and homophobic.”
Dodd famously called out Windham-Burke saying her storyline about getting sober was fake and she only did it to score a spinoff.
“I think her whole sobriety thing is contrived and I think it’s fake,” Dodd said during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “I know her well enough that this was a pre-plotted thing that she wanted to do to get her own show. She already had this planned, she wanted to get her own show. Her talent agent told her to stop drinking… it’s all contrived. I don’t believe she is a real alcoholic.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County is expected to start filming in the coming weeks.
