‘Is It Cake?’: Andrew Fuller’s Sugar Freakshow Studio Is in the Works
Netflix‘s new series Is It Cake? pitted nine bakers against each other for a chance to win some major cash prizes. The competitors were tasked with making cakes so realistic that the judges couldn’t choose them from other everyday objects. Andrew Fuller won the most money during his time on the show. Here’s everything you need to know about this talented baker.
How much money did Andrew win on ‘Is It Cake?’
Andrew Fuller was the overall winner of Is It Cake? The baker took home a grand total of $80,000 from his time on the show. During the competition, Fuller fooled the judges with a hyper-realistic conch shell cake, a cake made to look like challah bread, and a red solo cup cake.
Fuller’s final cake was a suitcase, complete with fake clothes spilling from the sides. The cake’s intricate details and incredible flavor (pistachio on one side and tiramisu on the other) ultimately tipped the scales in Andrew’s favor. According to The Ancestry, Fuller plans to use the money to work on his custom cake studio Sugar Freakshow and travel with his partner.

Is It Cake? winner Andrew Fuller is a cake sculptor, baker, and owner of Sugar Freakshow, a custom cake business located in Des Moine, Iowa. Fuller puts a creepy twist on hyper-realistic cakes, creating products for clients who want to “gross out their guests.” He also shared in the Netflix special that he delivers his cakes in a hearse with green flames painted down the side of it.
Fuller is actually a licensed home baker, but he plans to open a cake studio for Sugar Freakshow. The baker shared on Facebook that he is hoping the studio will be ready by late spring/early summer. He wrote, “Sugar Freakshow is a custom cake studio that WILL have dates where the doors are open for the public to come by and grab a treat. NOT a bakery. Private cake consultations are the primary focus. Because of this, there is no menu.”
According to The Des Moines Register, Fuller is attaching enormous tentacles to the roof of Sugar Freakshow. When these tentacles are inflated, they will serve as a signal, letting fans know Fuller is in the studio and that they can come by and watch him work on a stage he built. Treats and “gimmicky coffee beverages” may also be available on occasion.

Andrew Fuller specializes in wonderfully creepy creations and he shared that he has quite a few pets during his time on Is It Cake? Fuller has four hairless cats, Madagascar hissing cockroaches, and a pet leach. Fuller’s time on Is It Cake? also wasn’t his first appearance on a baking competition show.
According to The Des Moines Register Fuller participated in season 4 of Food Network’s Halloween Baking Championship, in 2018. He also made it to the semifinals of the Food Network’s Candy Land.
