When Keeping Up with the Kardashians first hit the airwaves, Kendall Jenner was just a child. In the first couple of season’s, you can see her and her little sister Kylie playing, chasing their older brother, and being all around obnoxious, normal little girls.

It is hard to believe all these years later that Kendall Jenner might be the sibling that will break away from her famous family and become the most independent.

From the start, she has had to defend herself, in order to make a separation between the reality show that made them all famous, the momager that wants a cut, and the cloud of drama that is always overhead. She is the one member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan that we see the least on the show, causing us to wonder, is Kendall Jenner close to her mom, Kris Jenner?

Kendall and Kris have had their share of problems

When it comes to the Kardashian-Jenner family, there are so many issues; it is impossible to count them all. The ones that stick out the most have to do with Kris Jenner wanting to get her hands on everything. There is always a conflict of interest there.

Take, for example, the time that Kendall basically told Vogue magazine that her mom was a liar, reported by Popdust. That’s right; she explained in an interview that her mother knew about Caitlyn Jenner’s trans lifestyle and that he wanted to transition. They all knew is some way, she said.

There is also a huge problem with the family always trying to merge all of their separate projects. For example, because Kendall is a model, should she be expected to model all of the beauty products, fashion lines, or maybe even Yeezy merch?

So, you can see how difficult it might be as the sort of “black sheep” in the family. She wants her own career, and life, which is entirely understandable.

Kendall Jenner tries to distance herself from her family

The biggest problem between Kendall and the rest of the family seems to be that she is more resilient. Sure, it is true that because of her family, she has had more doors open for her then if she was an average, not at all famous person, but she is still really independent.

Even in the early days of the show, you could tell that she often did her own thing regardless of what the rest of the family was doing. Kendall was always into fashion, and as she grew taller and thinner than her sisters, it was clear what direction she could take her career.

Now, she is a very successful model that has graced some of the most prestigious fashion magazines all over the world. She has walked the catwalk and holds many high-end brand contracts.

In order for her to gain this kind of success, she has needed to separate herself from much of the drama that started it all. She is also the only family member that chose to move farther from their mother, which makes us wonder what kind of relationship they have.

As it turns out all that separation between Kris Jenner and her daughter Kendall is probably good. They seem to get along well, even though she is not dependent on her as much of the others.

Kendall is still often seen supporting her family on social media and joking around with them. For example, on Kris Jenner’s Mother’s Day Instagram post, she accidentally left out Kendall’s name. This was likely due to her being the only child without children of her own.

Kendall decided to poke fun at her mother by replying to the post with, “love you too, Mom!,” which had fans cracking up at the two Jenners. So it seems it’s still all love between Kris and Kendall.
