Is Miley Cyrus Close With Her Siblings?
Miley Cyrus makes headlines for a lot of reasons. Since the singer was a young girl, she’s had the kind of stage presence most can only dream of. Miley definitely had the talent, but it didn’t hurt to get a leg up through her famous father, Billy Ray Cyrus. He’s just as relevant today with his remix of “Old Town Road” with rapper, Lil Nas X. That said, all of Billy Ray’s children are talented. Is Miley close with any of them?
Miley Cyrus has a big, star-studded family
Everyone in the Cyrus clan has talent. Miley’s mom (and manager), Tish, and dad, Billy Ray, encourage and support Miley and her siblings through all their endeavors. They’re often caught out together looking as close as can be.
As one of six kids, Miley does her best to stand out. However, each of her brothers and sisters has the same mindset with their own sets of skills and talents. Billy Ray and Tish came into their marriage in 1993, each with kids of their own from previous relationships.
Billy Ray previously married Cindy Smith and had relationships with Kristin Luckey when they divorced. They had a son, Christopher Cody, who was raised by Luckey. Around the same time, Billy Ray and Tish discovered they were expecting Miley.
Tish had Brandi (an actress, and DJ), and Trace, (a singer and fashion designer), from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson. Billy Ray adopted them as his own. He and Tish married when she was pregnant with their son, Braison. He’s all grown up now, as now a singer-songwriter and model who’s appeared in campaigns such as Dolce and Gabanna.
It wasn’t long before Tish and Billy Ray welcomed their youngest daughter, Noah, in 2000. Tish and Billy Ray had multiple divorce filings over the years. They always called it off, proving love really does conquer all.
We said the family is a big one and we weren’t kidding.
Who is Miley closest to?
In case you haven’t heard, Miley’s had kind of a big year. She began 2019 a married woman to Liam Hemsworth, caught feelings for Brody Jenner’s ex-wife, Kaitlyn Carter, and now hangs with Aussie swimmer and musician, Cody Simpson.
Love life aside, Miley was recently put on vocal rest after having much-needed vocal chord surgery. The rest was reportedly four weeks. That’s a long time not to chat or sing, especially when it’s your livelihood.
Throughout all of that, the one constant in Miley’s life has been her family. It seems as though she spends a lot of time with Tish, older half-sister, Brandi, and fellow musician, Noah.
Brandi has also been a part of Bravo’s Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer, and co-host of the podcast, Your Favorite Thing. She’s also hosted red carpet events and had bit roles on a few shows.
Noah can be found on stage — sometimes along with Miley and Billy Ray — or doing voiceover work in Ponyo, The Emperor’s New School, and Stoney Stories.
We don’t know who Miley’s “favorite” family member is for sure. But, based on who she posts about the most, we’re calling it: mom and dad.
How is Dolly Parton involved?
With so many Cyrus family members, how does Dolly Parton fit into Miley’s life? Not only did she play Miley’s godmother on Hannah Montana, but she’s also Miley’s godmother in real life.
The country icon who had hits like “Jolene,” toured with Billy Ray during his hit-making days. It was conveniently around the time Miley was born. The rest, as they say, is history.
