Is YouTube Star Jesse Wellens Dating Someone New?
Jesse Wellens and Jeana Smith amassed a following of 10 million on YouTube by pranking each other. The Philadelphia-based couple started a second channel during their relationship to vlog their daily lives. In 2016 they called it quits on their 10-year relationship with a heartbreaking video uploaded to YouTube.
Since then they have split their channels, moved and completely changed up their video styles, but periodically appear in each other’s videos. The guest appearances have led fans to wonder if the former couple is going to reunite at some point. Their most recent video together in September 2018 focused on The Ovarian Cancer Coalition Run/Walk in Philadelphia, a cause close to Smith’s heart. Smith lost her mother to the devastating disease when she was just 16.
Now, however, it looks like Wellens has a new leading lady, and the internet is abuzz because of it. So, is Jesse Wellens dating someone new?
Why did Jesse and Jeana break up?
In the video posted in May 2016, Jesse and Jeana explain that their relationship turned toxic due to the constant filming they embarked on. The pair began their daily vlogs in 2010. Shortly after the video was posted, Wellens was linked to several Instagram models after he moved from Philadelphia to New York. According to Hollywood Life, Wellens might have been stepping out on Smith before the official split.
In a video posted on August 17, 2017, Smith delved more deeply into the break up in an attempt to stop fan questions. She noted that the sudden death of Wellens’ mother changed the couple’s dynamic quickly. Smith goes on to explain that the break up was initiated by Wellens and that she experienced severe depression when they parted ways.
Wellens left New York in 2017 and has been based in Venice Beach, California since then. Both Smith and Wellens have switched to a more sporadic upload schedule since they ended their relationship.
Who is Jesse Wellens dating now?
In December 2018 a woman by the name of Tawny Janae began appearing in Wellens’ Instagram stories. Fans theorized that the pair were dating. In late January Wellens confirmed his new relationship in a video titled “My Girlfriend Meets My Dad.” The video has been viewed over 600,000 times.
Since the video’s upload, Janae has appeared in several of Wellens’ live streams, and on Instagram and Snapchat. Janae, 26, is a yoga instructor and model, according to her Instagram profile. She is based in California.
Where is Jeana Smith now?
Since the breakup, Smith has kept herself busy in Philadelphia. She has remained in the couple’s Center City apartment. They purchased the condo in 2014 for $1.5 million.
Smith regularly uploads videos featuring car rallies and her travels. Recently, rumors have surfaced that Smith is dating Philadelphia filmmaker, Domenick Cucinotta. Smith and Cucinotta have denied
She first introduced Cucinotta to her fanbase in November as her best friend. He has since been featured in several Snapchat stories and Instagram posts, as well as videos on YouTube. The pair worked together previously, according to Cucinotta’s business website.
