It ‘Still Hasn’t Hit’ TikTok Star Dixie D’Amelio That She’s Famous
Charli D’Amelio may have the most followers on TikTok, but her older sister Dixie D’Amelio has made her own name on the app, too. One of TikTok‘s most powerful influencers, 18-year-old Dixie D’Amelio, says she never planned on being famous. Sometimes, she still forgets she’s an internet star.

In a recent Insider profile of Dixie D’Amelio, the influencer explained her approach to TikTok content.
“Being able to do comedy, or skits, or just talking on TikTok is kind of my lane and where I stay,” D’Amelio said.
But the content creator wanted to make it clear that she is on a distinct path from her 16-year-old sister, Charli D’Amelio.
“Charli and I are two different people, and we’ve always tried to never be in competition,” Dixie said. “I don’t want to do what she’s doing. I don’t want to be a dancer, because that’s her thing and I have my thing.”

While Insider dubs D’Amelio “one of the most famous teenagers in the world,” the TikTok celebrity admits it “still hasn’t hit” her.
“Sometimes when I go out in public and I see people looking at me, I forget,” she explained. D’Amelio thinks, “‘Why are they staring at me? I’m so confused.'”
When her fans approach her for a conversation, the TikTok celebrity admitted she’ll realize: “‘Oh, I didn’t even know. I thought there was something on my face.'”
As D’Amelio told Insider, she never planned this whole fame thing.
“When followers ask in the comments section how to get famous like her, D’Amelio isn’t sure what to say,” the publication wrote.
The TikTok star explained: “I don’t think anyone knows, because no one was trying to [become famous] on this app.”

However, D’Amelio isn’t taking her platform lightly. Insider reports that the TikTok creator “keeps in mind that her young followers are watching.”
“She and her sister collaborated with UNICEF earlier this year for an anti-bullying project, as the D’Amelios have faced their share of social media body-shaming and negativity,” the publication explained. Dixie D’Amelio described the online hate she receives in her interview.
“In the beginning, it was very hard and I would try to write back at people, but I realized that bringing more attention to the negativity just doesn’t do anything,” she said.
TikTok’s D’Amelio sisters are starting a podcast
Despite Dixie D’Amelio’s goal of branding herself separately from her sister, she and Charli still create a lot of content as a pair.
The Hollywood Reporter reported Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, both repped by the talent agency UTA, will start recording a podcast together. A statement from the sisters read:
