Rossano Rubicondi was the fourth ex-husband of Ivana Trump. According to The New York Post, the pair were first married in 2008. The wedding reportedly cost more than $3 million and was hosted at the Mar-A-Lago resort in Palm Beach, which is owned by Donald Trump, the first ex-husband of Ivana Trump. Even though the pair divorced in 2009, they continued to see each other until 2019. At that time, Trump said that the relationship “ran its course.”
“Rossano spends a lot of time in Italy and I spend a lot of time in New York, Miami, and St-Tropez, and he has to work,” she said at the time. “The long-distance relationship really doesn’t work. We had a good time and are friends. The split was amicable.”
Rubicondi and Trump appeared together on the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars. He was also the host of a show called L’Isola dei Famosi — “The Island of the Famous” — which is the Italian version of Survivor. Rubicondi also was a model and an actor who appeared in various films including The Golden Bowl.
They remained in each other’s lives after divorcing — and reportedly wanted to remarry
In her memoir, Ivana Trump said that she remained friends with all of her ex-husbands, including the former President. But, her relationship with Rossano Rubicondi was special.
The actor, who reportedly died from complications due to skin cancer, was looking to reunite with Ivana Trump before he got ill. The Daily Mail reports that the ex-husband of Ivana Trump never stopped loving her — and that the pair had “grown close” when she heard the news of his diagnosis.
“Lately he got closer to Ivana Trump and many thought they also wanted to remarry,” said Italian filmmaker Roberto Alessi. “I met him a year ago for dinner with friends. He had a band-aid on his hand. I know he faced heavy treatment.”
‘I’m devastated’ said Trump
Italian presenter Simona Ventura was the first to tweet about the death of Rossano Rubicondi.
“Rossano, thank you for the journey we made together,” she wrote. “Thanks for the squabbles, and for breaking my chops, but also, thank you for the clarifications, the many laughs, and everything else we did together. Have a good trip. RIP.”
Ivana Trump confirmed the death of her ex-husband to People. And she did so with just one phrase. “I’m devastated,” she said.
