Depp and Heard met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2011. During that time, he was married to Vanessa Paradis, and she was dating Tasya van Ree. Depp and Heard began dating and got married in 2015. They divorced 18 months later after Heard repeatedly claimed she suffered abuse at the hands of Depp.
Heard even wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post detailing her abuse. The op-ed came at the contentious time when the #MeToo movement was at a high and people were narrating the abuse they’d experienced at the hands of celebrities and other people.
Although Heard didn’t mention Depp by name, many speculated she was referring to the Fantastic Beasts actor. Why? Well, the timeline of her recollection of events coincided with her marriage to the actor. The backlash was almost immediate.
Many called for Depp’s removal from the Fantastic Beasts and Pirates of the Caribbean franchises. On the other hand, Heard’s popularity soared. The Zombieland star claimed to be “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”
Fast forward to four years later, and Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation to the tune of $50 million. In the lawsuit, Depp claims he suffered financial loss from Heard’s abuse claims. She is countersuing him for $100 million.
Jaclyn Hill’s ‘humiliating’ run-in with Amber Heard
Hill is a notable influencer with more than 5 million YouTube subscribers. The businesswoman recently took to TikTok to describe her run-in with Heard. Posting on the platform, Hill said she encountered the actor a couple of years ago. While visiting the famous Japanese-fusion restaurant, Nobu, the professional makeup artist dined with a group of friends.
In the video viewed over 500,000 times, Hill narrated that she noticed the actor sitting at a table next to hers and recognized her from the movie Alpha Dog. The Insider quoted Hill saying, “We were making eye contact every three to five minutes, and it was so awkward.”
Hill added that she got up to leave the restaurant after paying her bill. But then she decided to inform Heard that she recognized her. The Jaclyn Cosmetics founder also told the actor she was “really beautiful.” However, according to Hill, the situation changed drastically when a few minutes into the conversation, Heard’s bodyguard grabbed Hill’s arm and said, “Ma’am come with me.”
Hill recounted the bodyguard pulling her out of the restaurant in full view of other guests. She heard him say, “You need to leave. You are not allowed to speak to her.” Hill said the moment was “so humiliating.”

Hill was born Jaclyn Eilers on July 20, 1990. Before finding fame, she worked as a MAC Cosmetics store employee and a freelance markup artist. In 2011, the influencer started her YouTube channel and quickly amassed a large, loyal following.
After filming a “Get Ready With Me” video with business mogul Kim Kardashian in 2018, Hill gained even more recognition. The 30-year-old has established herself as a reputable makeup artist and entrepreneur.
