Jada Pinkett Smith Cried For 45 Days Straight Over Marriage to Will Smith: ‘I Was Failing Miserably’
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have some skeletons in their closets. But that doesn’t mean they don’t still have a ton of love for each other. Still, the couple has been incredibly open with fans about the trials and tribulations they’ve gone through during their relationship. And Smith and Pinkett once opened up about the time when Pinkett cried for 45 days straight.

There are few celebrity couples who keep things as open and honest as Smith and Pinkett. The two first met on the set of Fresh Prince of Bel Air back in the 1990s, but Smith ended up marrying another woman and felt he couldn’t get a divorce for the sake of his son, Trey. Eventually, though, Smith’s ex-wife filed, and he and Pinkett started their relationship.
More than 20 years later, the two have been raw and honest about the problems they’ve experienced during their time together. On Pinkett’s Facebook series “Red Table Talk,” she and Smith have opened up to fans about their separation, Pinkett’s affair, and Smith’s once-rocky relationship with his oldest son.
Pinkett once cried for 45 days straight
There was a time when Smith and Pinkett were at rock bottom, and it happened when Smith realized that his wife had cried for 45 days straight over the couple’s troubled marriage. “I think that’s the worst I ever felt in our marriage,” Smith said on Pinkett’s Facebook show. “I was failing miserably.”
Smith had been trying to paint the picture of a perfect family, but it was only putting stress on the couple. From that point on, the two re-evaluated their relationship and did away with the terms “husband and wife.” Now, they only refer to themselves as life partners.

Smith learned that he had to stop putting up a façade and start to let the world in on what the dynamic actually was within the family; that’s what has helped them become so open with their fans.
Pinkett also convinced Smith that he couldn’t have a perfect family without being there for his firstborn. Smith, who longed to be a better father, started gradually repairing his relationship with Trey. The father and son now have a much better relationship, and the 27-year-old actor/musician is also close with his step-mother and half-siblings.

Things got real between Smith and Pinkett when they finally opened up about the affair they had kept hidden for several years. When the two were at their lowest point, they separated in an attempt to find happiness within themselves and eventually reconnect. In that time, Pinkett had an affair with musician August Alsina, who initially broke the news in an interview and forced Smith and Pinkett to come clean about it.
