Jada Pinkett Smith has been a staple in the entertainment industry for 30 years. We watched her on various TV shows in the ’90s before she exploded to become a bonafide movie star in films like The Matrix and Jason’s Lyric. One of the things that amaze us about the actor is that she does not age.

While we’re certain she can get her hands on nearly any beauty product on the planet, Pinkett Smith’s youthful glow has a lot to do with her fitness routine and her holistic diet. In fact, the actor’s entire approach to food is strict.

Jada Pinkett Smith says her mother inspires her healthy lifestyle

When you’re one of the most well-known people on the plant and have money at your disposal, healthy living and wellness are much more accessible. Though all of those things are true for the Girls Trip actor, she says that she’s most inspired to remain fit and healthy because of her mother.

Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk co-host, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, looks just as youthful as her daughter and her granddaughter, Willow Smith. In fact, Pinkett Smith has used her mom as a guide for the way she approaches her fitness regime and diet.

 “My mother keeps such a youthful spirit. She’s young at heart,” Pinkett Smith told The Today Show. “She takes really good care of herself. We both do. Eating well, exercising, drinking water. We’re both really on it.”

When it comes to exercise, there are no days off for the A Different World alum. While she sometimes enjoys intense workouts with her trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, she doesn’t do intense HITT workouts every day. In fact, some days are spent on yoga or a small burst of cardio.

For Pinkett Smith, it’s about making sure you incorporate fitness in your everyday routine instead of forcing yourself to do long exhausting workouts. “Everybody’s thinking you gotta be in the gym for an hour and a half. Literally, I’m never in the gym longer than 45 minutes,” she told BET. “Just be consistent—that’s it! It doesn’t necessarily have to be intense, and you will see a difference. Just go out of your house and do a brisk walk!”

Typically when she does young, her daughter and mother also join in. “I usually do my yoga at home in the evenings for about an hour,” she told Women’s Health

Still, despite her commitment to living well, Pinkett Smith does have her weaknesses. Two of her favorite foods are pizza and french fries. When she does allow herself to indulge, she ramps up her fitness routine. However, the Set It Off actor’s philosophy has been to approach food as fuel instead of eating for pleasure.

The actor and talk show host avoids beef, pork, and sugar, and her diet centers around eggs, brown rice, fruits and vegetables, salmon, and nuts. It isn’t exactly exciting, but it’s certainly made Pinkett Smith ageless.
