Jada Pinkett Smith Thought She Was Pregnant the Moment She and Will Smith Conceived Jaden — and She Was Right!
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s kids together are almost as famous as they are. Both Jaden Smith and Willow Smith both have their own careers going. Will described the conception of Jaden in his new autobiography, Will, and it sounds downright magical, because there’s no other explanation for it.
Will Smith delicately describes the conception of Jaden Smith
In his autobiography, Will judiciously uses profanity where appropriate and also speaks openly about some of his sex life. When it comes to Jada, he promises to be delicate and use euphemisms and innuendo.
“We were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico,” he wrote. “It was one of our favorite hideaways. We had rented a beautiful hacienda in the hills. Jada and I had spent a raucous evening in the company of our dear friend, Jose Cuervo. (That’s a euphemism.)”
He describes the moment of conception as “crescendoing.” You get it. Here’s the passage from his book.
Jada was on top of me as the sweet crescendo simultaneously crept upon us. (Innuendo.)
‘I’m crescendoing,’ she said. ‘I’m crescendoing.’
‘I’m crescendoing, too!’ I said.
Will Smith, Will
Jada Pinkett Smith thought she was pregnant immediately
But here’s where things get interesting. The moment both Will and Jada climaxed, she got the sense she was already pregnant.
“And as the majestic movement reached its culmination, a shock wave shudders through Jada’s body,” he wrote. “And then panic — a look of abject terror washed over her face. ‘I’m pregnant,’ She said.”
At first, Will had the reaction most men would have to that claim. By the time he started dating Jada, he already had a son, Trey, with his first wife. But you don’t even have to be a father to know it takes a few weeks before you know you’re pregnant. Smith admits he laughed, but Jada was in a panic. Perhaps it was the tequila talking.
He wrote, “‘Oh no, oh no, oh no, this can’t happen. This can’t happen!’ she said, rocking back and forth with two fistfulls of her own hair.”
Will didn’t exactly smooth things over by laughing, however. He continued describing what she said, “‘It’s not funny, Will. It felt like a lock on a vault, one of those big wheels that spins and bolts into place. I felt it. I’m telling you, I’m pregnant.’”
Jaden Smith’s birthday proved Jada Pinkett Smith right
Then he tried to calm Jada down using medical logic.
“‘Babe, I’m no fertility expert,’ I said, choking back laughter, ‘but I’m pretty sure they’re not even finished swimmin’ yet. I think scientifically you can’t be pregnant,’” he wrote.
Jada hasn’t told her side of the story yet, but whatever she was feeling was quite convincing.
“‘I know my body, Will,’ she snapped,” he wrote. “‘I’m pregnant!’ Then she rolled over and burst into tears.”
He tried one more time to ease her mind, but logic wasn’t taking.
“‘Jada, stop trippin,’ I said sternly,” he wrote. “‘I understand that you’re experiencing something right now. But you are not pregnant. It doesn’t happen that fast. It’s impossible.’”
Nine months later, Jada was proven right. Actually, she would have been vindicated much earlier in the pregnancy when she found out her due date. The Smiths would have known for months that Jaden was due exactly nine months after their Cabo trip. However, Will puts Jaden’s birth as the definitive moment when Jada’s intuition was confirmed.
“Jaden Christopher Syre Smith was born on July 8, 1998, pretty much nine months to the day…” he wrote. “In our family, we affectionately refer to his conception as ‘the Miracle.’”
