Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith talk openly to their children about a variety of controversial topics. They have a somewhat unconventional way of raising their children that is often critiqued in the media. However, Will and Jada still allow Jaden and Willow to do what they want in everything from their blossoming musical careers to sexuality.

The couple’s daughter, Willow Smith, takes part in Jada’s talk show, Red Table Talk. Together they tackle various social and cultural issues. However, there was one time where Willow told Jada more than she ever wanted to hear from her daughter. This moment might be shocking to many fans who are accustomed to Jada and Willow talking about tough topics all the time.

Jada Pinkett Smith told Jimmy Kimmel about one TMI moment she had on ‘Red Table Talk’

When Jada appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host brought up an episode of Red Table Talk that he thought was uncomfortable. 

Kimmel admitted that Will makes Jada go on strange vacations such as bungee jumping. However, he compared that situation to some of the topics on Red Table Talk. 

“He makes you do these crazy things every once in a while, but your show!” Kimmel said. “I was imagining being [Will] and watching his mother-in-law, his wife, and his teenage daughter talking about pornography, which was one of the subjects that you discussed. I would imagine that it was not only uncomfortable for him but probably uncomfortable for you too.”

Jada admitted, “That particular show was a TMI moment.” She never expected to feel uncomfortable on the talk show. The actor is the one who came up with the idea to tackle tough topics.

“I must say I learned a little bit too much about my mother and surely about my daughter,” she told Kimmel. “I never thought that I personally would have a TMI moment at the red table, and that was the show.”

Jada and Willow talked about whether pornography ruins relationships

In the episode of Red Table Talk Kimmel was referring to, Jada and Willow discussed pornography as it affects relationships. Jada’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, was uncomfortable with the conversation before it even began.

“40 million people watch porn on a regular basis,” Jada began. 

Then Willow said something unexpected before the three co-hosts even sat down at the red table. They were still getting the finishing touches on their makeup when Willow admitted she is interested in pornography.

“Low key. I’m down for the expensive-looking stuff,” the 19-year-old said.  

Jada was surprised but went into details about the time she caught Willow looking at pornography. Her daughter was only 10 or 11 years old, at the time.

“I can’t believe kids are exposed to this on a regular basis,” Jada said. She was referring to the pornography she found on Willow’s Tumblr account. “I was profoundly disturbed.”

Willow explained that she thought what she was looking at was tasteful and artistic. However, as her mother, Jada still felt the whole conversation was too much information for her to handle.
