Jamie Lynn Spears tries to present herself as a supportive, loving sister. But her older sister, Britney Spears, seems to have a different take. After a recent Instagram post made by the “…Baby One More Time” singer, Jamie Lynn is a social media trending topic. But it doesn’t seem to be for all the right reasons.

A recent Instagram post made by Britney Spears seemed to throw shade at her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
“There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support,” Britney wrote. “How dare the people you love the most say anything at all…did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME !!!??? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning ???? Again … NO … so if you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!! If you’re gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny…and have a good day!!!!!”
This comment was seen as a direct hit at Jamie Lynn Spears. Jamie Lynn’s last comment on her sister’s conservatorship matter came from a series of Instagram story posts, where she claimed to be supportive of Britney.
“I think it’s extremely clear that since the day I was born I’ve only loved and adored and supported my sister,” she wrote, according to Us Weekly. “This is my freaking big sister before any of this bulls—t. I don’t care if she wants to run away to the rainforest and have a zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has so many times before. I have nothing to gain or lose either way. This situation does not affect me because I am only her sister who is only concerned about her happiness.”

In response, Britney fans made Jamie Lynn Spears a Twitter trending topic.
“Don’t forget that Jamie Lynn Spears was so ready to stab somebody at a restaurant but Britney needs the conservatorship?” wrote one fan. “Jamie Lynn and Bryan calling your sister “The Family Business” is proof that you don’t care. You don’t see her as a human you see her as a slot machine,” wrote another fan.
And yet another fan pointed out that Jamie Lynn’s comments seemed to be more dismissive than supportive of Britney. “Jamie Lynn Spears comparing Britney ending her conservatorship to Brit “running away to a rainforest and having a zillion babies” & “flying to Mars” ticked me off. JL was really diminishing her sister’s struggles by comparing the c-ship to those outlandish scenarios,” the fan wrote.
What’s going on in the conservatorship case?
As of this writing, Britney Spears scored a small victory by successfully petitioning the court to choose her own conservator going forward. According to Yahoo, this is a “monumental win” for the singer.
“After 13 years, it’s long overdue for Britney to be permitted to choose her own counsel. California recognizes the right to an attorney as one of the fundamental rights of a person under conservatorship, and it is apparent that [her former attorney] was not taking action to address serious concerns of financial and emotional abuse bordering on human trafficking,” said attorney Harry Nelson to the outlet.
It remains to be seen if this new conservatorship leaves Jamie Lynn Spears — and other members of the Spears family — out in the cold.
