Jane Fonda, 86, Adorned Herself With Over 4,000 Diamonds Worth $280K to Cannes Ceremony
Diamonds are forever. If there’s one person who understands longevity, it’s the gorgeous Jane Fonda. The 86-year-old debuted several stunning looks at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival. But the most exquisite may have involved the most diamonds. See her $280,000 jewelry look here:
On May 14, Fonda exited her vehicle in Cannes, France, and walked the red carpet with the familiarity of a true star. The two-time Oscar winner arrived at the Palais des Festivals for the screening of Le Deuxième Acte (The Second Act) and the opening ceremony of the most prestigious film festival in the world. Rocking a bold red lip and voluminous wavy bob, Fonda looked every bit a Hollywood star.
Fonda wore a classic black Elie Saab jumpsuit accented with black and silver floral details down the front. To begin her red carpet walk, she layered a black and brown printed forte_forte coat over her flared jumpsuit, removing it as she posed for cameras. In addition to silver pointed Margaux heels, the Grace and Frankie star accessorized with diamonds — 4,000 diamonds, to be exact.
Fonda wore a collection of Pomellato pieces totaling at least 4,000 diamonds. The Asimmetrico necklace included articulated rose gold plates “encrusted with 2,924 diamonds weighing a substantial 20 carats,” explained Zack Stone of London-based Steven Stone Jewellers. The piece’s estimated worth is $125,000. But don’t forget that it’s part of a set.
Fonda also wore a pair of matching diamond earrings worth an estimated $70,000. Third, the Monster-in-Law star donned a matching cuff bracelet set with 1,139 diamonds and an estimated $85,000 worth. This adds up to a grand total of at least 4,000 diamonds and $280,000.
As one of Milan’s most prestigious fine jewelers, Pomellato has partnered with Fonda many times. The longtime activist has supported the Italian company’s Pomellato for Women campaign for years. The movement advocates for safety and equality for women as it hosts panels and fundraisers to help safeguard women from abuse and violence.
“Men aren’t born wanting to commit violence against women,” Fonda told Elle. She believes it’s a learned behavior and that educating them at a young age is key.
