Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s Golden Globes Interview Was ‘Cringey’ and ‘Awkward’ According to Some Fans
Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet attended the 2020 Golden Globes together. They walked the red carpet together and answered questions from the media. There was one interview in particular that had some fans wondering if everything was OK between Bonet and the interviewer. Let’s look back at what some fans are calling an awkward Golden Globes interview.
Jason Momoa says Lisa Bonet is ‘the boss’
Momoa and Bonet have been married since 2017. He once said in a 2019 Esquire article that he makes sure to include his wife when it comes to major decisions. He doesn’t move forward unless she approves. For example, when the Game of Thrones actor brought a dog home, he told his children he had to run it by Bonet before they could decide whether to keep their new furry friend. “It’s up to Mama,” says Momoa. “Mama is the boss—everyone knows that.”
Bonet seems to be the quiet and reserved one in their relationship, while Momoa tends to be playful. The actor tells Esquire he is not the serious type. “I’m not, like, an old soul,” says Momoa. “I’m a young puppy.”
Fans noticed an ‘awkward’ interaction during Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet’s 2020 Oscars interview
Momoa and Bonet stopped to talk to Access reporter Sibley Scoles. At the beginning of the interview, Scoles jokes around with Momoa. She mentions that she gave him an Access scrunchie the last time they met, and she wanted to know where it was.
Momoa said he didn’t have a scrunchie with him that night because he chose to wear his hair down. It seemed like Bonet didn’t appreciate the exchange between the interviewer and Momoa. Some fans say Scoles was being flirty and Bonet became upset.
One YouTube commenter said there seemed to be a “vibe” between Bonet and the interviewer. Judging from the video, it didn’t seem like a friendly vibe. The commenter didn’t think Bonet was fond of Scoles.
At one point in the interview, Scoles said she watched the 2019 movie Joker four times (starring Joaquin Phoenix), and Bonet replied, “You obviously don’t have children.” Some fans thought Bonet’s reply was rude. Scoles bounced back, saying she didn’t have children, but she would rather be a mother than have enough free time to watch a movie four times. She then switched topics (probably to lighten the mood) and asked Bonet about her daughter, Zoe Kravitz, whom she shares with her ex-husband Lenny Kravtiz.
Jason Momoa loves scrunchies
Scoles mentioned scrunchies because Momoa is known to wear them in his hair and around his wrist. The year before, during the 2019 Oscars, two Access hosts asked the Aquaman star about the Fendi scrunchie on his wrist. He told them the pink scrunchie was the inspiration behind his powder pink suits for Oscars night, which were designed by Fendi and the late Karl Lagerfeld.
