Jay-Z was hit with serious allegations in the wake of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest. In December 2024, the plaintiff alleged that Jay-Z raped her at 13 years old with Combs and another celebrity present. Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, vehemently denied the claims. Here’s what a former prosecutor said about how the allegations could negatively affect Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s net worth.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s net worth could feel the impact of the allegations, a former prosecutor says

Jay-Z’s close friendship with Sean “Diddy” Combs has come back to haunt him. The rapper was accused of raping a 13-year-old with Combs present at an MTV VMA afterparty in 2000. Jay-Z denied the allegations and claimed he was being blackmailed. However, former prosecutor Neama Rahmani of West Coast Trial Lawyers told The U.S. Sun that just the allegations themselves might be enough to severely impact Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s net worth. Jay-Z has an estimated net worth of around $2 billion. And Beyoncé has a net worth of around $800 million.

“The mere accusations themselves can be very damaging,” Rahmani said. “We saw, in Diddy’s case, his net worth took a significant hit immediately. This could potentially be a game-changer for Jay-Z. He and Beyoncé, they’re music royalty. … And obviously, Jay-Z has his hands in all sorts of different businesses, including producing the NFL Super Bowl halftime show. So, what’s going to be the reaction there from the NFL?  Potentially this can unravel pretty quickly for Jay-Z like it did for Diddy.”

Jay-Z’s businesses have included Roc-A-Wear, a Reebok endorsement, a $200 million investment in Armand de Brignac champagne, a $56 million acquisition of Aspiro, the Cognac brand D’Ussé, and ownership of the sports bar 40/40 Club, among others. He has a music catalog worth $75 million. Jay-Z was also the president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings and founded Roc Nation.

Rahmani noted that Jay-Z will have to “wait and see” what happens next. The rapper’s situation will undoubtedly become worse if there are additional allegations or hard evidence against him. Even a settlement will “tarnish his reputation” and potentially damage his good standing with other brands.

Sean “Diddy” Combs saw a massive drop in his net worth following his arrest in September 2024. In 2021, the mogul had an estimated net worth of $900 million. It quickly dropped to $600 million in 2024.

Combs put his Los Angeles mansion up for sale in July 2024. While federal agents hadn’t arrested him yet, Homeland Security raided two of his properties a few months prior. A source told In Touch Weekly that Combs didn’t “need the LA place” because he preferred his home in Miami. Additionally, his legal fees grew.

“Defending him against these serious charges is a huge undertaking, and it’s gotten very expensive,” another source explained. “He will hate to part with it, but he has no other choice.”

As of November 2024, Combs reportedly hadn’t received any serious offers on the LA home that he listed for $61.5 million.

Beyoncé allegedly feels ‘devastated’ by the allegations

Beyoncé hasn’t spoken out about the allegations surrounding her husband, Jay-Z. However, a source told DailyMail.com that she sought comfort in her friend, former Destiny’s Child bandmate Michelle Williams.

“Beyoncé is embarrassed, devastated, and horrified with the allegations against her husband,” an insider explained.

Another source noted that the singer “isn’t in a good place at all and is surrounded by her mother and other friends at their home in LA. She has canceled some surprise promotional appearances. Jay has reassured her that he isn’t guilty of anything and is infuriated that his friendship with Diddy has dragged him into this.”
