Jay-Z Says He Is ‘More Than Prepared’ to Deal With Sexual Assault Allegations, Says He Will ‘Expose’ the ‘Fraud’
In September 2024, Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. The hip-hop mogul had previously been involved in a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in 2023, which detailed abuse during the couple’s relationship. In early 2024, video footage was released of Diddy physically abusing Cassie in a hotel hallway, and his reputation has been going downhill ever since.
Now, though, other celebrities are being called out for alleged actions; Jay-Z was just accused of sexually assaulting a minor back in 2000. However, he says he is “more than prepared” to fight for justice, calling the whole situation “fraud.”
Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has been accused of sexual assault in a civil lawsuit
On Dec. 8, news broke that Jay Z was named in a civil lawsuit alleging he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in 2000 after the MTV Video Music Awards. The lawsuit was initially filed in October, where it named Diddy as a defendant and mentioned “Celebrity A” and “Celebrity B” as being present. However, it was re-filed in December, which is when Jay Z (whose real name is Shawn Carter) was named as well. Jay-Z released a statement via his company Roc Nation, calling the filing attorney, Tony Buzbee, a “fraud.”
“These allegations are so heinous in nature,” part of Jay-Z’s statement read. “I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human,” Jay-Z said of Buzbee. He continued, “I’m more than prepared to deal with your type.” His final paragraph of the statement said that Buzbee has made a “terrible error in judgment,” and he ends the letter by saying, “I look forward to showing you just how different I am.”
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently awaiting trial
Combs was on the FBI’s radar for quite some time before his arrest, and he is currently awaiting trial. Combs’ team has tried to get him released to await trial at an apartment in New York City, but so far, it’s been to no avail.
Few celebrities have spoken out about the Diddy accusations, though there have been more and more rumors surrounding the celebrities who once attended Diddy’s now-infamous white parties. Suge Knight, who is currently serving a prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, said that Diddy’s life could be “in danger” due to how much he knows — and celebrities wanting to keep themselves out of the gossip. Ultimately, Diddy’s trial is set to begin in May 2025, where it could all come out once and for all.
