Jay-Z Must Give Beyonce $5 Million Per Child They Have Together Due to Crazy Prenup
Beyonce and Jay-Z have been together for well over fifteen years, which seems an eternity by Hollywood standards. The power couple works together, live together, and raise their three children together.
Although they have definitely gone through their share of hard times and struggles — from Jay-Z’s admission of cheating to the infamous fight in the elevator between Solange Knowles and Jay-Z — they have managed to survive all the trials and come out stronger than ever. These days, the superstar pair is reportedly rock-solid.
However, thanks to an iron-clad prenup, if anything ever did go down between Beyonce and Jay-Z, they would both be set for life.
When did Beyonce and Jay-Z start dating?
Beyonce first met Jay-Z when she was eighteen years old, in late 1999 or early 2000. Still, she admitted that they didn’t get romantic right away and that they were just friends for around a year before starting to date.
The superstar credits that time that they spent as friends as being vital to help them build a strong foundation. In late 2001, the two started dating, and in short order, they began working together as collaborators in the music industry, releasing several hit songs together.
In April 2008, Beyonce and Jay-Z tied the knot in a top-secret ceremony. The two have stayed very quiet about their marriage over the years, openly opening up on rare occasions.
They have continued to work together all throughout the past decade, touring together, performing together, and releasing collaborations that have become incredibly popular with fans. There’s no doubt that as the years go on, Beyonce and Jay-Z will continue to keep fans everywhere intrigued.
How many kids do Beyonce and Jay-Z have?
Beyonce and Jay-Z didn’t wait long after their marriage to try and start a family. In 2010, Beyonce got pregnant, only to suffer a miscarriage. After lying low to recover and build herself up emotionally, Beyonce got pregnant again, and she and Jay-Z welcomed their daughter Blue Ivy Carter in 2012.
While many fans assumed that the couple wouldn’t have any more children, Beyonce shocked the world when she revealed that she was expecting twins in 2017. The twins, Rumi and Sir Carter were born in late 2017, and although there haven’t been many photographs of the babies released to the media, it is safe to assume that they are enjoying the same luxurious upbringing that their older sister, Blue Ivy, very clearly enjoys.
Blue Ivy frequently accompanies her parents to red-carpet events and prestigious fashion shows, wearing designer clothes and definitely living her best life. There’s no doubt that Beyonce and Jay-Z are determined to give their three kids the very best life that they possibly can.
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s bizarre prenuptial agreement
Prior to their 2008 wedding, Beyonce and Jay-Z reportedly both signed a prenup that would give Beyonce $5 million for each child that they would have together throughout the course of their marriage. In addition, the prenup detailed that Beyonce would receive $10 million if the marriage ended before two years and $1 million a year for every year that they remained married up to 15 years.
Several years ago, the couple went through and updated their agreement, reportedly negotiating a fifty-fifty agreement in terms of custody for all three of their children and setting up detailed trust funds for their kids. There’s no word on whether the agreement to give Beyonce $5 million per child still stands, but it seems likely, especially considering Beyonce and Jay-Z’s extravagant lifestyles.
