Jean-Luc From ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Ghosted Colin After He Reached out
Colin MacRae from Below Deck Sailing Yacht said he reached out to deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux after he told him to man up when it came to Dani Soares’ pregnancy.
Soares dated Cerza-Lanaux on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 and became pregnant. When she went public with her pregnancy, Cerza-Lanaux questioned if the baby was his and left Soares to have the child alone. MacRae blasted the deckhand in an Instagram post when Cerza-Lanaux said he needed a paternity test before he would be a father to the child.
Colin MacRae tried to contact Jean-Luc in Panama
MacRae reached out to Cerza-Lanaux, months after he admonished him on Instagram. “I’ve reached out to Jean-Luc a couple of times,” MacRae said in a Bravo digital original. “He was in Panama City when I was. I could actually see the boat he was working on. And I said, do you wanna meet up because there was a bit of tension online about the whole him and Dani thing. And he didn’t message me back.”
No one from the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 crew has heard from Cerza-Lanaux with the exception of Captain Glenn Shephard. “Since last season I think I’ve only texted or had a couple of texts back and forth with Jean-Luc,” Shephard said. Gary King and Daisy Kelliher said they have not spoken to Cerza-Lanaux.

So how hard did MacRae slam Cerza-Lanaux on Instagram? Cerza-Lanaux posted about the pregnancy on Instagram and insisted he wanted to be in the child’s life – if the baby was his. He wrote that Soares blocked him on social media, but needed proof the baby was his.
“JL, why do you continue to lie through your teeth? Please keep this disgustingly desperate attempt to save face and blame Dani, off of social media. It’s pathetic,” MacRae commented on the Instagram post. “We in her circle have seen first hand how you have treated her for the last 9 months. So again, man the f*** up and do what’s right for this poor little girl, AND KEEP IT OFF SOCIAL MEDIA.”
MacRae’s comments were not limited to social media. He expressed his frustration on Alex Radcliffe’s Altered Reality podcast. “To this day he hasn’t stepped up to the plate,” he said about Cerza-Lanaux. “I think it’s f***ing disgusting. The door’s wide open for him to do tests and he still hasn’t done anything.”
Yeah, it was disgraceful,” he added. “I’m not one to just sit by and watch something like that go down. I’m friends with Dani and she’s shown me like screenshots of messages and stuff to save a little bit of face.”
Surprise – Jean-Luc is the father of Dani Soares’ baby
Cerza-Lanaux posted that he finally took the paternity test and he is the father of Soares’ baby. No one was surprised. Soares gave birth to Lilly in May 2021 and Cerza-Lanaux made his announcement on Instagram in January 2022.
“I can’t let 2022 go any further without sharing some beautiful news,” he shared on Instagram. “An international DNA test that was done awhile ago was no small feat. I’m happy and proud to say Sweet and beautiful Lilly rose is my daughter. Dani and I have been working and communicating together to the best of [our] ability; given Dani is a full time mother and worker, and I being gone for extended periods of time not knowing when I will step back on land. This is imperative for the sake of are daughter as she needs both parents in her life.”
