Jed Duggar Wedding: ‘Counting On’ Star Confirms He Is Married to Katey Nakatsu
The rumors were true. Jed Duggar is now married to Katey Nakatsu, confirming fan speculation that the Counting On star was getting ready to walk down the aisle.
Jed, 22, announced his marriage in an April 3 Instagram post. “I’m so grateful God brought Katey into my life and excited to share with you all that today she became my wife!” he wrote. “Katey, the thought of sharing the rest of my life with you makes me the happiest man in the world! I love you so much!!”
The Duggar family never confirmed Jed Duggar’s relationship
For weeks, Counting On fans have been buzzing that Jed Duggar was about to wed his supposed girlfriend. Still, the news of the wedding came as something of a surprise, as the Duggar family had never officially confirmed the two were dating (though mom Michelle Duggar did drop a hint about new relationships in a Counting On special that aired March 30).
In the past, the Duggars have shared news of new courtships on Counting On. That’s usually quickly followed by an engagement announcement, and then a wedding a few months later. That’s the pattern Jed’s younger brother Justin Duggar followed when he revealed he was dating Claire Spivey. The two went public with their relationship in September 2020, got engaged in November, and married in early March 2021.
Jed Duggar kept his relationship quiet
For whatever reason, Jed — who lost his race for a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives in November 2020 — decided to keep his relationship with Katey under wraps until his wedding. But according to his Instagram post, the couple have been an item for some time.
“For a long time I have prayed for my future spouse, not knowing who that person would be,” he wrote. “God answered my prayers far beyond what I could have ever imagined in Katey! We have enjoyed quietly developing our relationship over the past year and every moment together has been amazing!”

Jed’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, congratulated their son and daughter-in-law and also acknowledged that the couple had decided to keep their relationship off-the-radar.
“Jed and Katey have enjoyed a quiet, low-key relationship that has allowed them to prepare for a beautiful life together,” the Duggars wrote on Instagram.
“Congrats to this wonderful couple on their wedding day! We are excited to see how their story continues to unfold in the future,” they added. “Jed, we are so pleased with the man you’ve become, and Katey, we are absolutely delighted that you have joined the family!”
Jed didn’t provide any additional details about his big day, though he did share a photo of himself and Katey gazing adoringly at each other. As for Jed’s new wife, she keeps a low profile on social media. Perhaps fans will get to know her better on a future season of Counting On.
