Jedediah Bila Gets Rave Reviews on ‘Dear Hartley’ From This Co-Host of ‘The View’
Jedediah Bila recently appeared on The View to discuss her new book, “Dear Hartley”. Previously serving as the resident conservative voice on the panel in season 20, Bila headed to former Fox News after she left the daytime talk show in 2017. Now promoting her second book, Bila got accolades on the series of letters to her two-year-old son from one of her former co-hosts as well as a popular Shark Tank star.
‘The View’ alum hones in on all-encompassing freedom in ‘Dear Hartley‘
Bila shares some stories from her own life as well as her views (pardon the pun) on today’s topics that have become so divisive in our culture. Hoping to impart the wisdom that she’s learned to her son through these writings, Bila emphasizes the need for differences of opinion without fear of retaliation.
“We live in a world where people kind of pick a side immediately and they stop listening and they stop talking,” Bila told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “I want my kid and the whole next generation and all of us to remember that it’s OK to see the world differently – It’s OK to stand up for what you believe in. It’s OK to listen and have those debates. … But at the same time, be willing to express yourself and unafraid to express your opinion.”
The former Fox News contributor pointed to the values upon which the country was founded and how freedom in all areas of our lives needs to be preserved.
“I want all of us, the adults out there, the students out there, the grandmother, grandpa, the aunts and uncles, to be free,” she explained. “And what that means is that you are empowered to make decisions for yourself. … whether it involves personal health decisions, whether it involves free thinking at a university and what education really should look like. … This is supposed to being the land of the free, and I’d like it to stay that way.”
Sara Haines gave props to Jedediah Bila for ‘Dear Hartley’
Bila shared the “Hot Topics” table with moderator Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines during her stint in the show’s 20th season. “Dear Hartley” resonated with Haines, a mom of three, who expressed her enthusiasm on the book.
“I loved this book!” Haines raved, according to Bila’s Instagram. “I can’t wait to share these letters and their wonderful lessons with my kids. I’ve always admired Jedediah’s commonsense approach to conversation, and it shines through beautifully on these pages.”
Haines noted the need for Bila’s perspective on respecting opposing opinions, which is emphasized in “Dear Hartley”.

‘Shark Tank’ star Barbara Corcoran gives a ringing endorsement of ‘Dear Hartley’
Real estate icon Barbara Corcoran is known for her business savvy and financial prowess on Shark Tank. Corcoran prides herself on knowing a winner when she sees one and considers Bila’s book a slam dunk.

Though she hesitated on how transparent to be in the book due to any repercussions that would be directed at her son, Bila placed a priority on authenticity and was willing to risk being criticized for sometimes going against popular opinion.
“It kind of makes you think about what you’re putting down on the page,” she remarked. “I wanted to write this very raw and real and honest journey, but I was putting out this book, and I would look at him every now and then and think, it’s going to be OK that mama said that. … I want to be 100 percent real with people.”
