Jeffree Star Finally Addresses the Rumors That He’s Dating Kanye West and Gives the Full Story
This has been one of the strangest weeks in pop culture in a while. First, reports started surfacing that Kim Kardashian West and rapper Kanye West were headed for divorce. That, in itself, wasn’t so surprising given the drama they went through in 2020. But then rumors started surfacing that Kanye was hooking up with makeup influencer Jeffree Star. Now, Star has responded to the rumors.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s impending divorce
Kim and Kanye had a rough 2020 in which Kanye repeatedly called his wife out on Twitter. In since-deleted tweets, he even revealed that he had been trying to divorce her for quite some time. After the Twitter storm, Kim released a statement, crediting the outburst to Kanye’s bipolar disorder.
For a while, the two seemed to be on the mend and are even in couple’s counseling.
“Kim and Kanye are in counseling and exploring their options,” a source recently told People. “They have been working on their marriage for a long time, but no decision has been made.”
But according to reports, the counseling has not been working and Kanye knows that Kim is preparing to file for divorce.
“He knows that she’s done,” a source told the outlet of the rapper. “She has had enough, and she told him that she wants some space to figure out her future.”
“He’s OK,” the source continued. “He’s sad, but OK. He knows the inevitable will happen, and he knows that it’s coming soon.”
Is Kanye dating Jeffree Star?
Around the same time that reports of Kim and Kanye’s demise started surfacing, so did rumors that Kanye was hooking up with Star. Star recently took to his YouTube channel to squash the rumors.
“I woke up and my phone was blowing up, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, what in the scandal is going on today?’ I honestly had no idea, right. I’m keeping to myself, I’m living in this beautiful state [Wyoming], I’m loving life,” he said.
“I get a million texts, phone calls, news outlets… I’m scrolling on the internet and I think I read the dumbest sh*t I think I’ve ever read in my entire life,” he continued. “I can’t and then I was like how did we get to this moment, like how would this be made up — because we both live in the state of Wyoming?”
He went on to explain why it’s ridiculous to think that he and Kanye ever hung out.
“Let me just say this one time for any news outlet, I like very tall men. Me and Kanye have never hung out and this whole thing is really funny,” he said in the video. “So, I guess if this is the start to my New Year, then Happy New Year… I really can’t and if Kris Jenner orchestrated this whole thing, Happy New Year sweetie girl.”
Before moving on to talking about his normal beauty content, Star made sure to directly address the rumors.
“Jeffree Star is single and I’ve never slept with Kanye,” he said.
