Jenna Lyons Steps Out With Fiancée Cass Bird; Who Is She, and Will Bird Join the ‘RHONY’ Cast Drama?
After months of speculation, Jenna Lyons, the iconic fashion figure and The Real Housewives of New York City‘s first openly queer cast member, has confirmed her engagement to Cass Bird. The former J. Crew creative director has kept her love life private, even avoiding relationship talk on the show. However, during an appearance on Sherri on October 15, she revealed her upcoming wedding. Now, we must know more about Bird and her possible involvement on the Bravo reality series.
On October 16, Sherri host Sherri Shepherd noticed Lyons’ engagement ring after discussing RHONY co-star Raquel Chevremont’s engagement to Mel Corpos. As the talk show shared on Instagram, Shepherd said, “I think I saw an engagement ring in the trailer.” Chevremont interjected, “How can you miss that?!” Lyons jokingly explained that she and Bird, a professional photographer, were in a jewelry store, and she told Bird, “That one’s not big enough.”
Always willing to get the scoop, Sheperd gestured to Lyons’ ring and said, “Ok, this ring is nice, girl. I feel like I’m about to have a seizure with this ring,” which made the 55-year-old RHONY star laugh. Shepherd asked Lyons about a wedding date, and she responded, “We have to talk about it. I don’t know if we’re that close. June [of next year] is definitely not happening.” Lyons hasn’t revealed the details of her engagement ring. But we can see that it’s a multi-carat yellow gold diamond in a rectangular shape, perhaps emerald or radiant cut.
Lyons had been hinting at an engagement for some time. In May, she appeared on The Drink with Kate Snow Show and admitted that “it is hard to ignore the thing on my finger” despite trying to keep her relationship private. Last fall, Andy Cohen grilled the fashion designer on Watch What Happens Live. The Bravo producer stated, “I wanna say congratulations because I think you’re engaged, but are you engaged?”
Lyons responded, “My girlfriend, who I adore, kept telling me that I had to button my shirt, and I said, ‘If you want me to button my shirt, you have to put a ring on it,’ ” the businesswoman replied, seemingly referring to her penchant for showing off her décolletage. “We’re just really happy, and she gave me the ring that I wanted.”
Since her official engagement confirmation on Sherri, Lyons and Bird were spotted at the Giorgio Armani Women’s Spring/Summer 2025 Fashion Show on October 17. Sitting front row at NYC’s Park Avenue Armory, the pair both wore white button-ups and blazers. Lyons went business chic in a gray striped wide-leg pant set, while Bird went business casual in distressed boyfriend jeans and a simple black suit coat.
The couple recently unveiled Bird’s collaboration with Phillips, a leading global platform for buying and selling 20th- and 21st-century art. The LA native posted two Instagram photos of Lyons wearing a blonde bobbed wig and posing. As Phillips explains, “Bird reimagines the boundaries of fashion photography in this conceptual editorial, capturing Lyons not just as a high fashion model, but as a feminist icon, reclaiming the gaze.”
We expect this NYC power couple’s wedding to be as creative and unique as they are.
